Fusion SE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 500 miles

I got my car back from ford and I noticed all these chips and areas were the paint was missing. Ford said it was rocks and not covered under warranty. I would have to pay to get the car repainted. I did not get this done.

Fusion SL V6

Hello,

I am writing cause Ford won't fix the problem of the corrosion on the roof of my 2006 Fusion in three corners. They say it is not within the warranty time limit on the 3 year, 30000 mile limit and the one that is still in force (the 5 years, 100000 mile one) says there has to be a perforation (hole). No help from Service Director or the 1-800#. Basically, what they said was it's too bad. I have to wait for a full blown hole on the three corners of the cars roof before they will fix it (so they say but from what I read online, Ford will not fix it for one reason or another (like sun damage). When the hole leaks fluid to the inside compartment, causing worse damage which will be more costly to fix. Then what if the corrosion i(the hole) doesn't present itself by the time the warranty expires (5 years or 100,000 mile) I'm stuck with the fix up cost. Not right. What am I supposed to do..wait for the hole to develop so it can cause further damage? I argue that there has been a breach of Implied Warranty of Fitness or Merchantability. Although there is no product recall (the paint or prep work before it was painted at the factory), Ford should be held liable to fix it, it still is Ford that passed this problem unto its consumers knowingly. I will never buy a Ford product again and I will tell anyone who will listen that Ford doesn't stand behind its product or cares about its consumers. Try going on a forum of paint problems with Ford. You will see this isn't no small situation. The only recourse may be to sue in small claims court Ford to pay up for the repair work which can cost anywhere from $1800 to $3000, depending on the extent of the problem.

I don't expect to get justice. Ford bucks the consumer. Why would I have different treatment.... They just don't care...period. But I can inform the public and that's exactly what I will do.

Is there any other having 2006 Fusion owners with paint problems out there? I can't be the only one. Thanks...
