I checked online to find others who had same issue ~ called Ford Motor Co. 800# to file a complaint. At this time not enough complaints to warrant recall! People need to step up and document these types issues with the company. I owned 8 vehicles in my lifetime and never had an issue with the door latches at all. Maybe it's time to trade in the Ford for a different make??

Driver side door latch broke probably while driving on the freeway. I was unable to get the door closed and had to leave my car open while attending to an appointment. Found out that the latch mechanism was broken, and this is a costly repair. Complained to Ford Customer Service where they verified this was indeed a safety issue. Only problem is, nobody else has complained about the same problem Unless people complain, they can't do anything. If anybody has had the same problem, even if the handle was broken, you need to complaint to Ford at 800-392-3673 and report it so they can make this a recall issue. This should be a manufacture problem and I am willing to bet the parts are made in China!
