Fusion SE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,633 miles

Key gets stuck in ignition and the shifter for the tranny will not stay in park and slips out. Have to beat the tranny shifter knob a bunch of times and eventually it stays in park and then you can take the key out.

key stuck in ignition

I had a replacement key made and i thought that was the problem that it was not. If your car is starter clicking but do not start; is the battery less than five years mind is bad (57216 miles). The post in the internet say that it is an ignition switch but the ford dealer replace my top handle in the gear changing. I have the part # to help you DIY instead of going to the Dealer and yes a mechanic told me if the car is build to well like Toyota they do not make money. The one that said it not a mechanic from FORD. It is important that all FORD owner post the problem and solution to help every other than FORD Dealer.

My Opinion is they put so much pretty thing in the car that it do not run like a vechile should but that is okay with the customer. Would i but a FORD or Chevy Hell, NO!!!!! Plus Ford Fusion is Mazda 6 with a body style and ford stick on it. Plus problem with your Lower control arm is the BUSHING there is pick of Sh_T. Mazda sell the bushing for to much Lower control arm both replacement is need under Mazda 6. Ford sell a complete one for less than $100, but Oreilly have unlimited life time warranty. Code P0128 Coolant problem, check your coolant to top max level, bleed it if you did not when you replace it with the green coolant. Still have the problem IAT or mass air flow, take electric cleaner and spray it, dry. Problem with $2.00 tire tube the one you put air in NEW VECHILE CHECK FOR CRACK. If not it will cost a lot to replace the cheap tire FORD put on your car. Problem with air bag on your dash board lighting up sensor or battery is weak. Problem with door light on your dash board lighting up your first year under warrenty sensor plus FORD dealer will not put your seal on the window right check on the repair. Transmission is black not red do not listen to the dealer is normal your warranty is still on and we can not make money on you. I srew under the transmission pan will take the fluid out bad thing FORD is the only one that have 7 Qts of their transmission Fluid(7.00 plus @) . I did mine on 36000 miles on the dot; filter on Oreilly kit cheap. I am out of problem and solution plus the car is still with on going problem that have not showed up. POST and help other people be a person under GOD. GOD Bless everyone

Fusion SEL V6

Ford has been having problems with keys getting stuck in the Fusion and Focus since 2003. I have recently experienced this and my 100,000 warranty was up and it was estimated to cost me $395. I called Ford Customer Relations and they told me since the warranty was up, "Oh Well". Since this problem has been in existance since 2003, I think Ford should recall the Fusion and Focus to repair the defect with the shifter knob assembly and not leave a defect in manufacturing to be handled by the consumer. It's just so unfair. I have filed a complaint with BBB and NHTSA. I have a pending investigation with our local new station to investigate Ford with this issue. Hopefully, they will wake up and consider their consumers. Just because they are considered to be the dealer in the USA doesn't mean that they should take advantage of the consumers. Thanks
