A recall was issued for our 2008 for Fusion concerning the ABS system. This recal is NHTSA 19V904. We have recieved postcards from Ford Motor Company concerning this critical defect in the brake system numerous times in the past 2 years, this problem has not been resolved and I feel the car may me unsafe to drive daily.the master cylinder has been replaced to try and remedy this problem over 2 years ago. Still, brake travel and fluid has lost pressure many times since while driving. The local dealer, nor Ford Motor Company, will not comment on the recall nor the repair that is needed and estimated time this will be.

January 2020 and again October 2020 I received a safety recall notice from the Ford Motor Company stating a safety recall notice 19S54/NHTSA recall 19V-904 that a valve in the hydraulic control unit of the anit-lock braking system may be stuck open. My 2008 Ford Fusion indeed has this problem. Every time my anti-lock braking system is activated, my brake pedal sinks to the ground and it takes control and time for the car to come to a stop. After, the brake pedal remains soft and I have to pump the brake peddle to get pressure back up. This has been a problem since approximately 2018 for this vehicle. It has now been over a year and the manufacturer has yet to notify me of a fix for this recall problem. This time frame is unacceptable.

This vehicle is subject to a brake system recall from 12/2019 and as of today 2/8/2021 there still is no timeline on repair. This brake failure is a major safety issue and additionally has affected the ability for me to sell or trade in the vehicle due to diminished value and concerns over liability for selling a vehicle with an open brake system recall. The brakes continue to fail intermittently, with pedal travel to the floor often when braking on a rough surface.

Received a noticed for recall on hcu and brakes in late 2019, stating that parts would be available in early 2020. I was approaching the red light when I applied the brakes and they were depressed fully and the car began rumbling but was not stopping at all. The conditions were slightly wet, humid, and cold. I called Ford to ask about the parts and they stated that the most information they have now is that parts would be available sometime in the first quarter of 2021. I believe Ford is being reckless with people's lives due this very late delay in getting the proper parts out. Even the recall stated that the hcu may be replaced at the discretion of the mechanic, so even when the parts are available, Ford may still not repair the vehicle correctly. What a shame.

Re: recall 19S54/NHTSA 19V-904 opened on 12/18/19 2008 100,000K miles Ford Fusion ABS hydraulic brake problem. I originally received a letter from Ford in Jan 2020. It stated parts should be available late 1Q of 2020. I received a 2nd letter October 2020 stating parts should be available late 1Q of 2021. On Dec 30, 2020, my wife was driving the car when she tried to brake at a stop light during normal traffic but wet conditions. The brake pedal went down to the floor, but did not immediately stop the car, causing the car to swerve. My mechanic and I also experienced this problem with poor braking. The mechanic advised that he could not repair the problem without the proper part from Ford. I opened a case (cas-29149078) with Ford regarding the recall with numerous representatives. The last person at Ford I spoke with was eunise, a manager (800-392-3673) who told me to take the car to dealer currie motors in frankfort il for a diagnosis. The dealer can then diagnose it and then request parts thru Ford. I spoke with the parts mgr (john) and advisor (joe K) who told me that I would need to pay for the diagnosis ($150) and that no parts are available. The car is often driven on interstate 355, so the car cannot be driven safely. It is now being garage kept and undriven until repairs can be made (advised by my insurance company). This is a replacement for NHTSA case #11387712.

This vehicle has already been recalled for the hcu unit not functioning properly. I have already filed a complaint for that with NHTSA. This new complaint is because the recall was made on December 18th of 2019 and now over a year later Ford has not fixed the problem. I brought the car into a Ford dealer on 01/08/21 and the dealer confirmed that the hcu unit is defective but they told me Ford doesn't have the part and doesn't know when it will be available to replace it. This is over a year after it was recalled. I'm sure Ford has built a lot of cars and trucks in the last year and has sold a lot of parts so it doesn't make sense that they cannot get this part. This is a safety issue. The brake pedal goes to the floor if the anti-lock brake engages and most of the time I have to pull over and pump the pedal to get it back to where it should engage. The Ford dealer I took it to had me sign a paper saying that they informed me that the brakes are bad but Ford won't fix it and that they are not responsible for me getting into an accident.
