I have only owned this car for 4 years and I have had to replace the battery twice, have had two different broken handles, replaced the brakes 3 times in just two months and they still squeal, and now...my coil is burnt out and is going to cost me $1200.00 to fix my car... Thanks Ford, great way to celebrate my bday. Never will I buy a Ford again or recommend one! Customer or two or three lost!

Burned out coils prevent the car from being driven. This did not even trip the engine light at first. Felt like it was missing but the garage could not find anything wrong. Had the transmission flushed to see if that was the problem and also tried dry gas. Glad it didn't happen on the busy highway I travel for work.

The PCM (power control module) went bad. The PCM failure caused 5 out 6 coils to blow! The PCM part ($700+) was covered under a federally required warranty. The damage its failure caused was not! I had the car towed to a local shop as it was not drivable. They replaced one coil (~$400), this didn't fix the problem; they discovered the bad PCM. So the car was then towed to the Ford dealership as they have to do warranty repairs. Dealership fixed the PCM and stated the coils needed replaced (including the one the local shop had just put in!). Dealer said they couldn't guarantee the local shops coil and I should replace that one too! Uh no! The local shop guaranteed their coil and work. I only let the dealership replace the bad coils (~$1200) and PCM. All together expensive repair and very frustrating. There should be a recall! Ford's national hotline stated numerous customers have complained about this issue.
