I was notified June 2016 of the defective parts and as of this date 10/19/2017 no replacement parts are available. It has been 16 months with no correction available, I am very concerned with the safety of the vehicle since death has been associated with these defective parts especially in the state we live in with it's heat and humidity

We purchased our Ford Fusion 2008 through a private sale in may of 2016. The vehicle is listed as part of the takata passenger frontal airbag inflater recall since June 1 of 2016. We have not received a letter regarding the airbag recall. I found the information online after purchasing the vehicle and hearing reports of a massive recall in the news. Around June 25, 2016 on a particularly hot and humid day, the airbag compartment expanded and created a bump in the dashboard. A gel leaked out of the airbag compartment, into the glove box and on the dashboard. Not only do we have a defective inflator, but we also have an airbag that was somehow activated by heat and humidity. I highly suspect this airbag will not deploy correctly if the car is ever in an accident. I contacted three dealers (two in our area and the dealer that sold the car to it's first owner. The first two dealers said there's nothing they could do as the replacement airbags are not available. One dealer said they could replace the airbag if we pay over $600. They also assured me that the bulging dashboard and oozing gel had nothing to do with the recall, but I was welcome to work with takata after paying for the airbag to try to get a refund. Ford Motor Company was also not helpful saying this is a production issue with takata, and takata doesn't have capacity to produce the needed airbags more quickly. We can't afford to park the car to rust, and we can't afford to sell a car that has a safety defect. How long is too long to expect takata to produce the needed airbags" what happens if there is an accident with significant injury while waiting for this faulty airbag to be replaced"

Takata recall... received notice in July 2016 and still have not been notified for appointment to get repaired, I did call dealership where I purchased car a few months back and they claim that parts were not yet available. This is unacceptable!! this is a safety issue for all who occupy my vehicle as well as the million others who occupy these recalled vehicles in the event of a airbag deployment who is responsible for an injury or death. Why or what is the hold up... the car owners have a right to know, stand behind your company, maybe I should let Mr. Trump know about this lol

Reference complaint no. 11006081 and no. 11006075 airbag replacement - 2007 mustang and 2008 Fusion: I found the following information on a Honda website - "the 'alpha' driver-front airbag inflators were the subject of the first takata airbag inflator recalls starting in 2008. In most cases, the previous owners of these affected vehicles did not replace the inflators under those recalls and, thus, the vehicles remain unrepaired. Now, because of the time that has passed, they are even more likely to rupture if the driver's airbag deploys in a crash. In fact, in testing done by takata, alpha inflators removed from vehicles in consistently hot and humid areas showed a rupture rate as high as 50 percent." Can I expect the same, higher percentage of kill rate, in the inflators in my 2007 mustang and 2008 Fusion as they age, as found by Honda? I will pay to have the airbags/inflators replaced - request your office provide the correct part numbers and recommended place to have the work correctly accomplished. I did not receive a response from your office to either referenced complain, any information your office can provide is appreciated. V/R, tom

"takata recall" the door handle on the care is broken which enables me to get out of the vehicle. Which to me is considered a death trap. I have to roll down the window and open the door from the outside or have someone open it for me. My air bag is also raising out of the passenger side. This scares me. On hot days I fear that it may just explode due to the heat. Which may be a hazard to others and I.
