When I got in my car this morning I noticed the dash is bulging around passenger air bag. The car was parked in my driveway.

Dashboard has pulled up around passenger airbag. I am just getting around to reporting this, but I see many other complaints on this issue that should be something Ford recalls and fix due to a safety hazard. Bulged around airbag as well.

I have had to replace the transmission, the head gasket, drive shaft and carrier barrings. When I had the vehicle fixed I was told I need a new gas tank as well. My passenger side airbag compartment is rising up from the dash and I am concerned it will deploy even without an accident to initiate the deploy. Called Ford Motor Company and they were not willing to help in any way. I purchased the car in 2013 and have had problems from the start with no help from Ford. Thank you.

I had my 2008 Ford Fusion SE checked out due to the rear tires were going bald. I have put 6 tires on the rear til the bodyshop put it on a light and said there was a bend in my knuckle assembly and my lower rear passenger control arm was slightly bent. My steering wheel turns to the left while driving and the wheel are straight. My back to tires needless to say bow out, and I continuously buy tires because the parts and labor are over $1000. Also the passenger airbag cover is loose and im afraid tht the airbag will pop while im driving.

The dashboard on the passenger side is bulging out where the airbag is. I took it to my local Ford dealer and they said airbag is at risk for deploying, because that is what is bulging... it has gotten worse you can tell airbag is pushing on the dash. We have tried fixing it but its the bulging airbag that is the issue not the dash itself. I have researched online and have found that other peole are also having the same problem with their airbag. Please recall, before someone gets hurt.

I am the original purchaser of a 2008 Ford Fusion with a problem with the passenger side dash buckling at the bottom of where the airbag is. This causes me concern about the airbag deploying at any time even if it is not in an accident or if needed to deploy and it fails to do so. Help !!! I am not the only Ford owner with this issue.the problem first began being noticeable in 2012 and has progressively gotten worse.

The air bag compartment on the passenger side has come away from the seam and is bubbeling. Now their is a powder substance that's brown that is coming out of their as if the balloon is drying up. Alamogordo is a hot area where temps range from 90-100 degrees. The car has not been in an accident and nothing has hit the dashboard to cause it to bubble or the seems come attached. It just started gradually happening. I am aftraid that if I get in an accident the air bag will not deploy, or that it will deploy for no reason, as it seems very unstable. I have seen other Fusion with the same issue. I have attached picture from different angles for you to see

There is a bulge along the trim near the front passenger side air bag panel. The trim of the dashboard has become separated from the air bag panel exposing a gap. This would definitely be a safety issue if the airbag would/should deploy. Dealership says there is nothing they can do because it isn't covered under warranty.

The passenger side air bag warning light did not illuminate when the passenger seat was occupied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The dealer stated that the passenger side air bag was normal and that there was no defect. The dealer also stated that they could not look further due to concern of damaging the air bag. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,252.

I noticed the area where the passenger side airbag is is bulging from the dash. When I went to start the car it would turn over and immediately cut out. Airbag icon is lit up on dash as is the engine light. Repeated efforts to start and keep going were unsuccessful. Since I was on my way to work I kept trying. Finally got going and traveling approximately 20 mph and the car just completely shuts down. Got started again and proceeded to work and it happened again going about 35 mph. Ran fine for a couple of days, back to the same old thing today with the airbag light staying on. I have read of this issue before however I could not find that report today. It is very dangerous to be traveling along and have the car completely shut down on you. Ford really needs to take care of this issue. I am contemplating reporting this to a news station because it seems like they are not taking this seriously. The other reports I just read do not mention car cutting out on them or airbag and engine lights on.

Drivers side door lock became inoperable. Drivers side door will not lock using the lock switch or the lock button on the key. The only way to let yourself out from the drivers side is to roll down the window and open the door from the outside. The only way to lock the drivers side door is with the actual key itself. This is very inconvenient and dangerous I feel if I were in an accident. Also, my 2008 Fusion air bag on the passenger side dash is starting to lift away. Anything to due with my family's safety is a big deal! these things are dangerous and need to be recalled and fixed!

I have contacted Ford about my passenger side air bag bulging out and they acted like they didn't care. This is dangerous. If it would to explode it would bust my windshield and not to mention if I had a passenger in front of it they would get hurt if not killed. How has this not been recalled"??" this is a major safety issue and I have seen so many complaints about this issue and nothing has been done. I love my Ford Fusion but if Ford is gonna handle serous issues like this I will stop dealing with Ford.

Like many other people the dash area holding in my airbag of my Fusion started bulging a few months ago. At first I thought it was the trim but the whole area is bulging more each day. I am afraid to have anyone sit in the passenger seat for fear of the airbag deploying randomly. Have been advised that the only fix is to replace the dash. Since I see that countless other owners have experienced the same problem it would seem like Ford would fix this.....especially since it involves the airbag which is after all a big safety issue.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag casing lifted and was separating from the dashboard without warning. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics, but was not diagnosed or repaired. While driving approximately 60 mph with the cruise control engaged, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle lunged forward. The speed increased to 70 mph without warning. The failure recurred on three other occasions. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
