After driving for 1 week with soft brakes, had hard stop last night for yellow light. Problem self-corrected for now. Master Cylinder was replaced 1 month ago.

The brakes on the fusion are doing the same as the 2005 ford f150. we had and the master cylinder recall on that truck and the car is doing the same but Ford has not recall this problem. i just want FORD to fix it but they keep saying there is no recall

Driving approximately 30 mph when I braked hard and turned to right at same time. ABS braking engaged. Lost brake pedal thereafter. Could pump brakes and achieve pedal, but would lose brake pedal on next stop. Have been advised that it may be master cylinder, but based on web discussions, symptoms appear more likely result of problem with ABS system.

Ford is aware of this problems as the numerous complaints posted on line will attest to this.

2009 Ford Fusion 52k miles. Twice after anti-lock brakes engaged, brake pressure was horribly soft and I was afraid that the brakes were not working at all. Took it to the dealer recently and they could find nothing wrong. Very scary.

After braking on fresh snow, the anti-lock braking system engaged. Since that has happened there is very little pressure on the brake pedal unless it is pumped. The pedal will go almost all the way down before the brakes engage. 1000 miles on new brake pads and fresh rotors before this happened, brake were great until this happened. Suspect the master cylinder but the fact that it happened while the anti-lock system was engaged makes me think there is a problem in the system. Have driven 800 miles (highway) since and no change. Any suggestions?

This problem has happened three time over the past 18 months. The brakes came back to normal within a day. Concerned there may be total brake failure the next time. The local Ford dealer could not offer any reason for the problem or how to fix it except to change the brake fluid (which they wanted $110 to do), but not until they tried to diagnosed the problem, at who knows what cost.
