The car had been in the garage for its regular maintenance June 19th and this problem occurred in July. It took three weeks for the Ford part to be delivered and installed.

problem #1

Dec 222015

Fusion SE V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,981 miles

The TCM is gone again, this is a $750 part. It was replaced in August 2013, since then I've put approximately 22,000 km on the vehicle and the part is gone again. This time the car isn't under warranty so I'm responsible for the part, 2.5 hours of labor and the rental (I'm a one car family). Once again this part isn't in stock, isn't available at Ford Canada and there is no estimated time of arrival, unless you count "when it gets manufactured" an ETA.

The car is deemed not road worthy. Obviously it's a defective part, the original part lasted four years with 52,208 km, the replacement Ford part lasted 28 months and 22,000 km. Time to get rid of this car!
