I was driving at approximately 45 mph, when suddenly the car started to violently shake and decelerated to 10 mph. The "check engine" and wrench icon lights came on. I referred to my owner's manual, which directed me to take my car to the dealership. I drove slowly for 4 miles to the nearest Ford dealership. They informed me that the issue was with the "throttle body" and said that is would need to be replaced at a cost of $550 (incl. Parts and labor). I had the part replaced at that time and the problem appears to be resolved.

Wife was driving down 4 lane highway when car stalled and died due to bad throttle body. Cars behind her had to change lanes, one truck had to slam on brakes. The red wrench light came on. I've heard other complaints on the very same issue with nothing being done. I'm reporting now because I've got another issue with the driver side axle leak. Also another issue I've seen multiple reports on. I bought extended warranty but have been out $200 for deductible. These are issues that Ford needs to step up and make recalls. The bad thing is I've had to wait for the parts both times because its such a bad issue that everything is on backorder. Please get these things taken care of before someone gets seriously hurt. My wife was very close to getting hit by a big truck. I think people that have been out money for these things should also get refunded. There needs to be a recall on both issues. Thank you..

Car has stalled out before a few times. This time, it chugged with the wrench light on, brown/grey exhaust. Shut it off, tried again. The same. I inched my way over to the side of the street. So glad I was not on the freeway going to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! recall this car so we can get our money back, or give me big discount on new different car/truck. Poor workmanship on this year of vehicle. Car of the year? what a joke.

I was driving my kids home from school and as we were turning I pressed on the gas and it stalled, I pressed it again and nothing. Then today same thing in the middle of the intersection thank god there wasn't a lot of traffic.

We were stopped in heavy traffic in orlando 800 miles from home. The car would not accelerate so we limped into a gas station. A tow truck operator was at the gas station as well as a mechanic. They both said it is a very common Ford throttle control failure. Ford quoted us $1000 to fix the problem but a mechanic fixed it for $450. Initially, he cleaned the throttle control and changed the spark plugs. It drove fine in test drive but failed again on our way to hotel. We purchased the part from greenway Ford in winter park fl. They had 24 in stock because it is not uncommon to sell 12 a day since the problem is so common. The problem is now solved because we drove the car to Toyota and traded it in.

The car on multiple occasions would suddenly stop and would stall out or not allow any acceleration. Battery would die while driving car would violently shake. Throttle body was replaced in the summer of 2013 in December of 2013 we started having similar problems again with the shaking and stalling out. The throttle body needs replaced for the second time in less then 1 year. No accidents occurred but I could see this leading to accident injury or even death if this occurred on a highway. Luckily we have always been on side roads when the engine has given out. Ford is aware of this issue on this model of car this needs to be addressed and a recall needs to happen I have read hundreds of reviews since I began having issues and almost every single one has the same complaint about the throttle body this is not fair to the consumers who might purchase this car unknowingly and risk their safety everyone else's safety on the road and pay out of pocket hundreds of dollars for a known defect!

While on the interstate going 70 mph I felt a loss of power in my Fusion followed by a wrench light coming on. I was no longer able to accelerate and fortunately was on a stretch of the highway with a shoulder. After shutting off the car and restarting I was able to drive home. I had purchased an extended warranty and took it to have it looked at but since no lights were on no codes registered and I was told it was fine. The next day my car once again stopped working while I was on the interstate in the fast lane. Very scary and dangerous. Upon my second trip to the dealership it was determined the throttle body was defective and needed replaced. It appears this is a widespread problem that would have been nice to know about.

I was stopped at a traffic light and when the light became green I proceeded to turn right through the intersection. After driving about 25 yards the car lost almost all power and the engine began to vibrate. The car moved forward in a jerking manner with little power (10%). all the dashboard indicator lights came on and then went off except for the wrench light which stayed on. I shut the engine off and waited about a minute before restarting. All indicator lights were off and the engine was vibrating and jerky while driving the first few feet and then all went back to normal. I am very concerned that I would be in a dangerous situation if this were to happen on the highway at a high speed.

Was driving about 40 miles per hour when the car started to stall as if it was running out of gas and wrench light (check engine) came on. Pulled over to side of road and car began to violently shake. Turned the car off, waited a minute, turned it back on and was able to drive it. Two days later, driving about 25 miles per hour, exact same thing happened. Four days later, 55 mph, same thing. It is now at the Ford dealership and they are unable to find code. Code was previously found as P2112 throttle actuator stuck open. I explained what was going on, the previous code, and that I have seen hundreds of complaints online about the same experience. Apparently they cannot just replace the part if they don't experience it themselves, at least not to be covered by extended warranty. Would appreciate a recall. Dangerous to drive this car with my 11 month old in it.

Merged on the highway heading to work. At approx 60 mph, or highway speed the car decelerated quickly and rpms dropped below 1,000. After a more pressure was applied to the accelerator, the car jerked then accelerated back to normal speed. Once pressure was released the car's RPM dropped below 1,000 and started to decelerate quickly. All of this occurred during rush hour traffic. A friend of mine had the same issue and the Ford dealership said the throttle body had to be replaced. There are many online forms that explain the same scenario I experienced with the same part malfunction.

Backed out of a parking spot and proceeded forward. Suddenly the car began to sputter and idle really badly. The wrench light came on and so did the check engine light. Turned off the car and waited a few moment. After a minute or two, I turned the car back on and it was working fine for about 2 miles. Then started to sputter again. Wash, rinse, repeat the same above until I got home. After researching, found that the throttle body on these vehicles is a common malfunctioning part.

Driving along the interstate in my 2010 Ford Fusion SE, it suddenly lost power with no acceleration, leaving my wife and I in a horrible position as we tried desperately to get to the side of the road without causing an incident. The issue was a faulty throttle body. In reading online, I see this is a very common issue with this vehicle. Ford really needs to issue a recall in the vehicle. Someone will get injured or killed because of this problem.

Traveling at speed in heavy traffic, the car shook and I lost all power. I was able to make it to the side of the road although several people had to swerve around me as I was going uphill and lost speed quickly. The "wrench" warning light was on. While the car would idle, nothing would happen when I pressed the accelerator. I shut off the car and was able to restart it. Everything seemed fine and no warning light. I made it home safely with no more incidents and discovered many other people have experienced the same issue. I will be calling the dealer tomorrow to determine options for part replacement. I am very lucky that I was able to make it to the side of the road and not cause an accident considering the traffic situation. This should be a recall item!

My car, 2010 Ford Fusion SE, has now stalled on me three times with in the matter of 3 months. The first time it stalled I was pulling onto a main road and taking a left, having to cross both lanes and it stalled as soon as I tried to accelerate across both lanes, I barely made it across both lanes to pull over and get out of the way. The second time was similar except I was taking a right onto a street and could pull right over. The third time it stalled on me I was driving approx.. 50mph over a bridge and had to pull over where the traffic was coming onto and off of the highway and thought I was going to get hit. My car is not paid for and now I need to spend almost $400 right before christmas... I can not believe this isn't a recall after reading over 600 similar situations... if this were to result in an injury or fatality would that make it a recall??

Lost power in the center lane of I-75, almost caused a large accident. Car was rough idling in median. Took it to a Ford dealership, replaced the throttle body. Fixed the problem. Now I see there are many others that have had the same problem. Needs to be a recall. This is very dangerous, I could have killed someone!
