I was driving and all of sudden my car stalled in the middle of traffic and almost caused an accident. A wrench symbol displayed on the dash as I tried to accelerate on the gas but could not move. I to hurry up and pull out of traffic before I got it. I turned the car off and waited a few minutes started it back up drive two blocks and it did it again. I only had the car less than a year and could have a caused a bad accident with the car stalling in the middle of traffic. I thanks god for watching over me. Im a single parent and need a vehicle and don't have money for costly repairs.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 40 mph the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact turned the vehicle off and restarted it; the vehicle began to operate as designed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 77,000.

There has been several incidents over the past 2 days. The first time it happened I was making a left turn, I tried to accelerate but there was none. The engine felt like it was shaking. I pulled over after finally getting through the intersection, turned off the car and then after a few minutes, restarted it and it ran fine. That evening on my way home from work I was driving down the street and it did the same thing. A wrench light came on the dash display. The same thing has happened 6 times. Its almost like it resets itself if I turn the car on and off. The wrench light also turns off once I turn the car on and off.

As I drove my 2010 Ford Fusion SE 6 speed manual transmission up to a speed of 50 mph, I was noticing a couple jerks of acceleration and then completely loosing power.I was able to pull over, come to a complete stop and turn the vehicle off and restart it. App-on restarting I was able to make it to auto zone where I was informed that my fuel injectors probably needed a good cleaning. So I bought some cleaner and ran I through my engine. That seemed to have worked until 3 days later I was coming home with my sister and her friend on the freeway, during rush hour driving 75mph this time, and my car didn't only stall once, but three times on my drive home. However, this time my check engine light came on so when I arrived back how and dropped of my sister and her friend I drove to auto zone and advanced auto parts to get an obd II reading. Both readings were P2111, meaning that my throttle actuator was stuck open and not responding to the gas peddle. Now both companies suggested that I just clean my throttle body and that would fix the problem. Before I did this I call my Ford dealer to see if this part was under warranty or any kind of recall and was informed that it was not under warranty or recall. They also suggested that I just clean the throttle body and that would fix my problem. So I cleaned the throttle body, but now the car is stalling more than before. I tried looking up the part so that I could replace it but found out that Ford has already discontinued that part and is telling people to by the new part, but they never did a recall for the part. This particular part controls the air flow into the engine, if it malfunctions the throttle body closes up and the car idles, no matter how fast you are going. This is a sever safety issue that Ford needs to take responsibility for. If they don't someone can be seriously injured, or worse, killed.

While driving my vehicle lost power and would only go 5 mph. The engine trouble (wrench) signal came on. We had the vehicle towed to the dealer. Dealer ran diagnostic tests and determined throttle body was bad and needed to be replaced. Part ordered and is on backorder - may be 3 weeks before part is available. The loss of power and sudden decline in speed could have caused a nasty accident.

Was on the interstate, wrench light came on, car lost power and began jerking. I could not accelerate. In the past 2 months, my original throttle body went bad, number 2 was bad, and number 3 was bad. Now I am on throttle body number 4, which I bought new from a dealership in California. It took days to find it, as new throttle bodies are on a national back order. I wonder why?

I was driving no faster than 25mph this afternoon and all of a sudden, it felt as though my car was about to stall, and accelerating made the rpms go up, but the car wouldn't move. I pulled over, and felt my car shudder, so I turned it off. After about 30 seconds, I restarted, the restart was iffy, but the car finally was good for the last mile of my journey. Fast forward about 7 hours, coming home from dinner, and same thing happened. It's very scary! and tomorrow I have an appointment an hour away and am afraid it will happen while on the NJ turnpike! mind you, the first week I owned the car I had to bring it in for the same problem. They said it had transmission problems and Ford had it in their garage for two weeks. I hadn't really had a problem since then, but it appears this issue has resurfaced. Very unsafe. It's time for a government issued recall since Ford will not do one voluntarily!

I had the transmission failure light (wrench) come on twice driving home yesterday. The first time was from a stop light and then turning left. The car shuddered, the light came on and the car went into limp mode and wouldn't go more than 5mph. After pulling over and turning the car off, I was able to restart the car after 2-3 tries. Upon restart the light cleared and I was able to start driving home. About 2-3 miles later, on the highway, the problem happened again, traveling around 65 mph. Same symptoms, the car went into limp mode, I had no acceleration and couldn't go more than 5mph. The car shook and shuddered. After pulling over ( on the highway! ) I was able to restart it and limp home. I took the car to a dealer and they said the throttle body needs to be replaced. They currently have 7 Fusion on their lot with the same exact problem. This is a very dangerous problem as the car unexpectedly loses all acceleration and would seem likely to cause an accident. I was fortunate to be able to pull over and restart the car, but will not be driving the car until it is fixed as it is a severe safety hazard. One Ford seems to know about, having release a tbs, but needs to go further and issue a recall.

I was getting up to speed on the highway after being in stop & go for about 15 minutes. The "wrench" icon warning light came on, the revs dropped and there was no throttle response from the engine. Pulled to the side of the road. Shut down and restart. Idle was low and rough, still no throttle response. Shut down again and called aaa for a tow. While on the phone, I turned the engine back on (not running yet) and noticed the wrench light was off. Started the car again, and this time everything was back to normal. Mechanic found no engine codes, suspects bad egr valve or bad throttle body.

I was driving on the highway at 65 mph during rush hour traffic when suddenly my speed dropped to 5 mph. I pulled off to the side of the road and turned off my car. After sitting for a few minutes I started the car and got back on the highway. After I traveled for approximately one mile it did the same thing again. I turned off the car and restarted in a minute or two and again was able to continue my travels on the highway. My destination was about two miles away. I called the dealer, ganley Ford, that I purchased the car from and was able to get my car in that day. The diagnosed the problem to be the throttle body. I was told that it would take a week for the part to come in. To my surprise it only took three days for it come in. I was told that this was not covered under the manufacturer warranty or under my extended warranty. This a very serious issue and I am lucky that I was not hit from behind because there was no warning that this was going to happen. My spend just went from 65 mph to 5 mph. I had the gas pedal to the floor, but my car would not go. I have read many Ford forums and blogs and it appears that this is a very common problem. I believe that these cars should be recalled and those of us that have already paid to have the problem fixed should be reimbursed.

Was driving on highway, when my 2010 Ford Fusion SE lost power and was jerking forward. I had to pull over to side of highway because I could not accelerate. Indicator light for transmission problem was on. I turned off the car and restarted, after which the vehicle ran fine again. However, after driving for a few more miles, car did the same thing. I again restarted and vehicle ran fine again, this time running long enough for me to get home. While driving it to the Ford dealership, it did this again, this time at speed of about 60 mph. Vehicle would drive but was only able to go at very low speeds. Dealer said it was an issue with throttle body and that this part is on backorder.

4th incident with my 2010 Fusion shutting down while driving. I picked it up from the Ford service 6/18 and they said they fixed it, again. I drove to work, no problems. Got off work, driving for about 10 minutes and the car sputtered, wrench light comes on and when I press the gas, nothing happens. Coasted to the side of the road and it sputtered some more and shuts off. Ford keeps making repairs to my car saying they've fixed it but it's not fixed. Now I have $1,200 in repair bills and no car. I'm scared to drive my car and very stressed over this. No one should have to keep going through this danger of driving a car that keeps shutting off! and as I see from other Ford owners, I'm not the only one this is happening to. Ford needs to do something about this issue, or someone is going to get seriously hurt, or killed!! I've complained to Ford motor credit customer service and filed another complaint with the NHTSA. Please do something to recall these cars to fix the issues!!

Driving at highway speeds when I felt a shudder and realized I was losing forward momentum. Rpms dropped and the engine did not respond to stepping on the gas pedal. A wrench light illuminated on the dash. Only coasting, I was able to move the car to the side of the road and put it in park. Car had a very shaky idle, like it was about to stall. I turned off the ignition and waited for about 1 min, then tried to turn the car back on. Car took longer than usual to turn back on, but once it was back on it seemed fine. Was able to continue driving it to my destination without further incident. Five days after first incident, same even occurred again, with turning the car off and on seeming to correct the problem for the time. No electrical, braking, or power-steering power was lost.

I had just stopped at a stop light and when it turned green, I proceeded to the ramp to get on the interstate when my 2010 Ford Fusion suddenly lost power and started shaking violently. I managed to get to the other side of the road and coasted into a parking lot. It took 3 times of trying to re-start it. Finally started and taking all side roads, I made it home. It has happened numerous times since then, but last Friday, June 14, 2013, I had left the grocery store with a trunk full of groceries, and had to make a left turn onto the hwy. It died on the turn and shook worse than ever. I managed to once again coast to the other side of the road into a parking lot. This happened at least 7 or 8 times before I got home that day. It has scared me so bad, I am now afraid to drive my car.

I have purchased this Ford Fusion new from rogers Ford in odessa Texas. 1N 2011 as 2010 leftover car quits running at any speed or just loose all power then I must pull to side of road/median to restart car. Then it may run correctly for 50 miles or 50 feet then, repeat with same problem. This started at 38,000 miles not covered under warranty. The code is P2111 throttlebody. I have myself (dealer will not install used part) replaced throttlebody 3 times (used new is not available) because when I spoke with Ford Motor Co. And dealers they stated a mass nationwide back order and every dealer I have spoken with has no idea when part will be available. I have had several close calls by almost being hit by other cars/semis when engine power quits or when it stalls I loose power steering and brakes. I have spoke with Ford Motor Company today 06/17/2013 1300 hrs and was told to bring to any Ford dealer and I called three Ford dealers and was told cant get part it is on nationwide back order.

2010 Ford Fusion -- had to replace trans axle due to poor surface roughness on part and it wore the seals, found by puddle of tranny fluid in garage. A known issue, Ford had a kit to repair. Local trans shop found about the issue. Of course no recall. Now transmission slips while accelerating, and decelerating before jerkily shifting in gear.

I was driving on the interstate with the cruise on when the wrench light lit up and the car started to slow. It did not respond to the gas pedal. I pulled over, restarted the car, and all was fine until 10 miles later when the check engine light went on, but the car continued to drive. I pulled off and drove home. The next day, the check engine light turned on when I started the car, but turned off a few minutes later. The car killed twice on surface streets, with no check engine light. Garage has identified the problem as the "throttle body wire."
