The power steering module is broken on my vehicle. This has been an issue now for a few years. There is and has been an open recall for the same problem for 2011 and newer vehicle. This is a problem with my year make and model of my vehicle and apparently many others. This is a dangerous problem could cause accidents even death. If this is not fixed on 2010 vehicles as well. I will be taking matters to a lawyer. This is unsafe. I was driving my vehicle when it went out and almost crashed my car

Takata recall: My daughter was driving her 2010 Ford Fusion when the steering wheel seemingly locked up. She was on the freeway and nearly wrecked in panic. Luckily it did loosen enough for her to get off of the highway. This could have been a terrible situation.

This vehicle has been sitting for over a month due to my limited income as a veteran I can not afford to repair this issue at an estimate cost of $1600. This issue is not due to my negligence.power steering assist failure is the issue. I was driving it to work in dallas, nc when I experienced the steering wheel locked as I made a right turn into a parking space. After I struggled to get it into the parking space I also struggle to drive it home as well.once I got the vehicle home I called tindol Ford in gastonia, nc regarding my concern I was informed that I need to have it diagnosed at my expense of $99. Then if it is the epas (electric power assist system) repair estimate cost can be about $1600. This vehicle specifically had a recall before not sure but I think it was for airbag and or seatbelt. Well since then I borrowed a temporary vehicle from family member due to repair cost being expensive. This Ford Fusion has a title lien through bridgecrest, in whom I finance with. Vehicle is almost paid in full.this issue however is not any of negligence but more so a manufacturer issue. The epas consist of a TRW component which consist of everything to this failure such as the hydraulic the belt drive the drive rack the coder interface etc. I had a local mechanic look at it and the observation made was it's a power steering issue that only manufacturer can correct due to the complexity. The TRW is a non serviceable unit. Enclosing I ask that you please contact the manufacturer and look into the facts of this matter which is fault of the manufacturer. I thank you in advance for your time and help with this matter.

My car has a problem hanging up when you accelerate. This is my second transmission. First one went out at 41,000 and I had to get a new one. The car has a total of 109,000 on it and I think this transmission is going out. It hangs up when you accelerate so I have to be careful about how I accelerate.so that the gears will change. It is an automatic transmission. It has been slipping for at least the past 10,000 miles, I am worried that it will go out again. The last transmission went out in heavy traffic in dallas Texas. We almost died in that incident. The car wouldn't go and stopped in the middle of the intersection. I am worried that the same thing will happen with this transmission. This problem started last year in early part of 2017 and is ongoing

My car was having multiple issues. First the epas system went out as I was driving. There was a recall for previous versions but when I looked up the 2010 Ford Fusion 3.0lv6 AWD it was not included even though it was one of the pioneer vehicles of Ford to have the system. Once I got the power steering repaired I started hearing a grinding. As I drove the car to my house to get a safe look all of a sudden there was a jerking and crunching sound as I drove on a straight road with slight grading. Luckily I was only going 35mph and was able to control the vehicle. I took it to the mechanic and found out that it was the power transfer unit and the rear drive shaft. After talking to the mechanic he said that the ptu is one of the most commonly replaced parts in the AWD Ford vehicles. It is obvious after more research that Ford is well aware that they are providing a faulty product and are placing them in all of their AWD systems. My understanding is that the ptu unit in the Ford Fusion 2010 is the same as in all other Ford AWD vehicles. Since I spent so much money to get the power steering fixed I had to put my car in a garage for the winter so I could save up to fix the now funked ptu. My car hasn't even cracked 89K miles.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 70 mph, the different gear selection options started to illuminate on the instrument panel. The service advance track warning indicator also illuminated. The vehicle started to decelerate, all the warning indicators illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was determined that the vehicle was stuck in fifth gear. The mechanic recommended that the vehicle be taken to the dealer for further diagnostic testing and repairs. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

Have a 2010 Ford Fusion. Lf cv axel seal was leaking. Took car in and had bushing, seal, and shaft replaced. Drove car 150 miles. Same exact issue. After researching this problem. This transmission leak is a "very" common problem with these cars. Not only did I pay hundreds of dollars to fix the leak with all new parts, but this leak can cause the transmission to blow. Ford needs to recall this and get the problem fixed. How does a person have all new parts put in to fix the leak and the problem still exist"?? manufactures should have to stand by there products and fix such a major problem. Every time I drive the car it leaks fluid. What will be next to fix?" my transmission because Ford won't fix the problem.

Transmission failure due to inside bushing wearing out and damaging axle at 58,328 miles last week. We purchased this car new in 2010 and have taken good care of it. Check engine light went on. Last week and our mechanic discovered the damage during a routine oil change/maintenance check up. Transmission and axle have to be replaced at $4300. Ford company seems to be "aware" of this problem and nothing has been done. Should be a recall and fall under the lemon law due to the number of complaints of transmission failure in the Fusion and this is dangerous and expensive, to say the least. We are not the only ones to have this problem. Not happy with Ford Motor Company. Doesn't fall under warranty even though we have less than 60,000 miles on it because we have had it longer than five years. Also local Ford dealership charges $100 just to do a check engine light test. The independent mechanics in town charge nothing.

I purchased this car new in 2009. With in a few months I had problems with the transmission. Putting the car into drive it would slam in the gear, not all the time but multiple times each month. The transmission slips while driving and will not shift properly, again randomly. Dealer can never duplicate the problem. I will put the last time this happened below as I do not recall the date the first time it happened

As we drove over the overpass, slowing to come to a stop sign onto the four lane into town, our car suddenly stopped in the driving lane. We were later told the ptu assembly locked up internally, making the car immediately unmovable forward nor backwards until replaced. No history nor symptoms of issues before this. It would have contributed to a large accident in the heavy traffic, if it had occurred earlier in the day as it could not be moved, nor had we any signs at the time. We were stuck in driving lane late in the evening, waiting on a tow truck to haul it to dealership. They replaced it, at our expense, with the mechanic, noting he had the same issue with the same make and model of his own. We were also told there was no recall nor egress for us to resolve this any other way. We have the payment and service order available for review. This is quite disturbing, as it was over $1800 out of pocket for just this repair, which I found was a more common issue than was previously thought. I found our that there was a recall, but for only certain plants, although others noted the same issues as well. To know that there is a recall for this same issue, but only in certain plants is a concern, as they know of the issue and hazards of it, but did not feel it pertinent to relay this to the general public who used their product, at their expense, not knowing of risks. I just found out of this avenue today to help others know of this and take action to avoid further issues and safety risks.

I have noticed a vibration in my car at about 55-65 mph, upon further investigation I found out it is the power transfer unit for my AWD. I am a mechanic and called Ford for them to verify that the fluid is non servicable and is good for a life time. This is crazy because a new one is $900 or more not including labor, and because they are not servicable every about 80,000 - 100,000 miles you will have to replace it. Who has $2,000 to spend every time this breaks to fix it. This is outrageous and Ford should be doing something about this.

Takata recalls - I was driving and my car sensor came on saying power steering assist fault. I didn't think nothing of it. So the next day taking my daughter to school and my steering wheel would turn at all. I had to get towing services. I call Ford about it they told me in customer no parts available at this time. The company is in bankrupt. They don't know when to get it in. When they do they will notify

Ford knows of the transmission fluid leak in the cars but Ford and NHTSA wont do a recall on them and it is costing thousands of dollars to fix. Ford ran a customer satisfaction program on it but the of course stopped it. I can not understand why the government would allow Ford to screw the public on a major repair.

In lower gears / below 3500 RPM, I will occasionally experience a sudden deceleration, and then an abrupt acceleration as the vehicle attempts to make it to the commanded speed. This only occurs when the vehicle is already in motion, most often city streets, occasionally while accelerating onto a highway. I believe this creates a potentially dangerous situation, as a driver may not have the full, consistent acceleration that he expects to have. This issue began shortly after receiving "check fuel filter" codes, due to a poorly designed inner gas cap gasket, which allows for contamination to obstruct the easy fill system's inner seal. I believe this may also be related to an issue with a throttle body controller, similar to the many Ford products and customers whom have submitted prior complaints. Not sure why those throttle body controllers didn't get a recall, the problem is common enough and the potential damage substantial.
