Fusion LS

My 2011 Ford Fusion is a lemon! It has been one problem after another. When I bought the car it was only 2 years old. The drivers door and passenger door locked up on me. We have to roll down the windows, reach the outside door handles from inside the car in order to get out of the car. The air has never been cold..until finally it just quit. A real lemon! It has four other things under recall!

I own a 2011 ford fusion and I am having problems with this vehicle. I had been driving it for 3 years. I bought the car as used so hardly no warranty as of now, since the mileage has also sky rocketed but it still runs. I'm not going to say it's a good car because there are problems like the steering noise or grinding noise somewhere underneath or inside the hood, not sure where it's coming from. Also, my steering gets kind of stiff but I manage to just keep on steering but that goes away. And for the air bag situation it's been sitting like that for 2 years now. All Ford motor company does is write letting me know the parts are still not available yet. I am thinking are they lying so they don't have to deal with it? Or, since they make all kinds of vehicles every year why not make another brand (Air bags) as the same for this type of vehicle so everyone who is on recall can have their air bags fixed. The next problem now about this vehicle is the air conditioner -- it stopped blowing out cold air. I have to turn it up so high and even then it just blows cool air out. I even put more cans to refrigerate the AC but nothing, it's still the same and now I am just using my window for air to try and stay "mildly cool downed" but sometimes I cannot go out and drive since my state is getting hotter. :( I need these vehicle problems to be fixed. If they are also on recall let me know of any. I am getting frustrated and annoyed by all this recall about vehicles, what's wrong with all the manufacturing companies. Back in the days in the 50's and 60's I have heard nothing like that before. Is this because everything is now dealt with as electronic and maybe they just want more money...So...FORD COMPANY get your butt moving and do something about all the recalls, if you cannot just reimburse us all for the time we've been driving these vehicles because you FORD are the main owner and maker, your vehicles are not worth driving or buying anymore, You have ruined the trust and respect from Ford customers. They will be looking elsewhere to purchase and it can result in loss of business world wide.

Fusion SE 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,011 miles

During recent heat wave I started car and turned on Max AC with fan on high speed. Initially I had cold air, but after a short distance the air output jumped to full hot. Upon turning off the car for a few minutes and restarting, the jump from cool to full heat repeated itself.

I took the car to my local Ford dealer with the suggestion that the problem was spurious heat addition and not a problem with refrigeration. With a $240 charge for verifying that the refrigeration system was functioning properly, they declared it fixed. I got about a mile toward home before it again jumped to full hot. I returned to dealer and parked.

The HVAC was functional on startup and for a five mile ride with dealer representative. Of course it jumped again to full heat just as I returned to the highway from the dealership. At this point the Fusion air management system (temperature blend door, etc.) seems the likely culprit. Unfortunately I see little reason for hope either in my experience or the described fixes for similar complaints What I see are large expenditures for poorly educated guesses by Ford technicians.
