we noticed the air conditioner would blow extra hard and then turn off. About a week later, we smelled smoke, saw smoke coming from under the passenger side dashboard and the motor seized up. Went the summer and now into winter with no air conditioning or heat. Ford service and parts said $1200. I saw a video and was able to fix it with new parts (I'm a woman). 4 screws and a click of a part later and it works. Parts cost me only $311.

Blower Motor/ Resistor melted as a result to wiring harness melting. Problem was not covered by Ford due to wiring harness not catching fire. Ford seriously needs to look at this issue to see exactly why the harness melted in the first place.
