When car was still under full warranty, it would not start from a drained battery. I charged it and went to dealer. Battery was checked but was good, The same thing happens about once year since. I am careful to be sure all doors are closed, keys are not in car and all lights are off. I do not use sun roof. Battery is fine after charging for considerable length of time, One post on another site traced problem to alternator, but that is an expensive fix when you are not sure, Car works perfectly otherwise with no problems with shifting or accessory operation. Anybody know what causes this?

Fusion Sport 3.6 V6

  • Automatic transmission

Car battery would not start car so replaced, after two weeks car started to sound sluggish when starting, then not only did the car not start but totally dead. No power at all. Jumped it and it was fine again, battery charged even without driving the car! Here is the background. Leading up to the past month that this happened I noticed the car not shifting smoothly anymore and the AUX button on the radio was no longer working correctly. If the radio was on AUX would do nothing and if off, hitting AUX would turn the radio on and NOT bring me to other input. All happened at same time. Now that battery was totally disconnected this time and all power off in car everything reset and the radio is fine and transmission shifting like new again. The dealer could find nothing wrong. Car seems fine again. It appears there must have been a computer glitch that resolved once the car lost all power..? My fear is this will happen again...

Fusion SEL 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,859 miles

Had to replace the battery at the cost of 90.00 dollars and it was not covered because the car had above 36,000 miles. It also wasn't covered under the extended warranty through Ford. You should not have to replace a battery that is only 2 years old.

dealer says I don't drive it enough. He says it's not getting enough amps even tho I drive it for 4 weeks at a time and no problem . When I don't use it for 4 days then the problem starts and I have to call AAA to start the BRAND NEW BaTTERY! This is the second time this happened. I bought the car Feb 14 and 3 weeks later the battery didn't start.
