Fusion SE 2.5L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,500 miles

I bought my 2011 Ford Fusion in October of 2012 from West Palm Beach Kia. After a month of ownership I started having major issues. They have only gotten worse. In May of 2015 my vehicle started shaking and stalled on the freeway. It was extremely scary. I had it towed to Mullinax Ford in Lake Park, FL. At Mullinax they had to replace the throttle body.

  • Automatic transmission

My car completely lost power while driving around a curve in a very narrow lane in an underpass which had no place to move to the side. My Ford dealership actually said that there was a safety device which would cut off the engine when the oil is to low. REALLY This car has been serviced at the same Ford dealership where it was purchased and has had the oil changed every 3000 miles. I went to the nearest place to check my oil which was fine.

The car goes into a stall limp and needs to be restarted to work properly. I believe it's the Throttle body.

Fusion NA 4c

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,000 miles

I was traveling down a steep grade and engine shut off. I was able to safely coast car to a safe spot on highway. I put car in park and re-started car. I took car to the Star Lake Ford dealership on 08/07/14 where I purchased it. They checked vehicle for stalls. EEC test showed no codes. Road tested unable to verify concern at this time. This service cost me $79.50.

Fusion SE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 46,000 miles

Driving down freeway at 70 mph, car stalled, power steering got hard, car behind me had to swerve to go around to keep from rear ending me cause my speed dropped so quickly. I fought car to pull to side of road, with cars zooming by, while I coasted to stop. Sat on side of road shaking and trying to calm down and get wits back and after a few minutes restarted car and drove 10 miles to work. Came out from work and car did fine going home 6 hrs later.

Got home and researched problem on internet, said it was throttle body. Drove car for 3-4 weeks and it happened again on side curvy road about 30-40mph. Pulled over and car would not start or react at all. Tried 4 separate times over 20 minute span and car finally started and I drove car to local shop for diagnose and car showed no code or existing problems. Drove car home, investigated car problem on internet, showed existing throttle body problems with other cars. Because of expense, I had to ignore problem and keep driving this p.o.s!

Vehicle worked fine for few months and then took to dealer to fix after I finally got recall on vehicle problem, dealer fixed at no expense, but, 1.5 day inconvenience to myself with no other vehicles to depend on!

Fusion S 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,700 miles

I was driving to work down the interstate doing about 60 mph when all of the sudden the car jerked and I noticed that the orange engine wrench icon had lit up on the dashboard. The car started to decelerate. I pulled over onto the shoulder, As I stopped the car jerked really hard. I turned off the ignition, and let it sit for a few moments. I then proceeded to start the car, which started easily and I proceeded to get back onto the highway. A few seconds later, it did the same thing again. So I repeated the previous procedure, with the same results. This time the car performed fine all the way to work, which was 20 miles further. On the way home it did the same thing once after driving 22 miles. I am afraid to drive on one stretch of the highway, since there is construction work and no shoulders to pull off on.
