Power steering assist fault came up last night out of nowhere when I went to drive home at night in the rain. I was stationary when it came on and its happened once before but I turned my car off then back on and it went back to normal. This time I tried the same thing but it never cleared itself and I'm currently driving it with no power steering because I needed to go to work. Very dangerous and a major inconvenience.

The restraint control module was not replaced. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V597000 (seat belts). The manufacturer provided case number: Csa15903459. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 145,000.

When driving my 2012 Ford Fusion sel AWD, the power steering will (at random) cease to function and causes extreme difficulty in steering. It is nearly impossible to pull over safely. At speed this is an extremely dangerous and terrifying event. The lights for the traction control system, the power steering system, and occasionally the advance trac system come on. It is not always all of the lights all of the time, and the errors vary. I have had it looked at and the codes read, and the problem persists. I need this fixed as I have two small children that I refuse to allow to ride in the car as I'm afraid for their safety. It strands me at random at work and at school an hour from home as well. Upon cranking the lights for power steering failures come on and I have to sit and wait on a ride. This is unacceptable. Someone needs to fix this problem as every time I have called multiple Ford dealerships, they give me a runaround explaining there is no recall for this issue. This is unacceptable because the internet is rife with posters have the same exact issues I am having and are having no assistance either from Ford. Please help us with this problem, as I cannot afford to purchase a new car after this one has drained me of my resources.

Vehicle wouldn't start and got towed to the dealership. After inspection they found the fuel pump unit housing cracked and electrically shorted, blowing the fuse. Both the fuel pump and the fuse needed replaced. Car has 87K miles. This could have failed anywhere on the road

My car takes about 2 mins to start. The gas acceleration goes from normal to slow when I'm driving. I go into reverse and my car stalls and jerks really hard. When I'm at a stoplight or a stop sign my car will act like it's losing power and the whole car shakes. The lights on the dash come on then disappear days later with new lights on such as check engine doors open ect. There are times I will be driving and my car will slow down on its own like I hit my breaks. When I was backing up going in reverse the car jerked and I hit someone however it was in a parking lot. There was no damage to the other vehicle. When I put the car back in drive after I had it in reverse from backing up I backed up again there has to be something wrong within the car itself. I'm worried about my safety as well as others. The malfunctioning of the car has been going on since about a month after I got it and it's been almost 2 months since it's beenin my possession.

When driving the vehicle on an incline, or the engine is under loaad, the temperature gague goes up, but as soon as I come out of it, the temperature returns to normal. I have had it tested and it is not actually overheating. Have a new water pump, thermostat, sensor and radiator. Also, the car symbol on the instrument panel is on and all doors and trunk are closed. Had to take it to the dealer, they've determined it is electrical after the "diagnostic", but are still trouble shooting after a week to determine the exact cause.

Purchased a 2012 Fusion sel with 35xxx miles in feb16. During the summer of 2016, the A/C blower began to function intermittently ' manipulation of the wire harness supplying power to the resistor would cause the blower to turn on/off. The blower only ran at one speed (I.e. the resistor was bad). The blower and resistor were replaced. The issue is once again occurring at ~80,000 miles. This is a well-documented complaint (blower pull too much current and fries the resistor) with this vehicle and, oftentimes, Ford dealers are only replacing/repairing the blower and resistor. However, in my experience (and likely many others), the wire harness also needed to be replaced to correct the issue as continuity through the wiring is also affected when this issue first occurs. This is an obvious manufacturing defect that Ford is not addressing. Furthermore, their dealerships/service center personnel are not adequately educated on how to permanently correct this issue (this is evident by the number of complaints that reference the issue recurring after only the blower motor and resistor are replaced). They are charging Fusion owners $500+ to put a temporary band aid on an electrical issue that should be well understood by now.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that, due to the date the vehicle was manufactured, the VIN would not be included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V597000 (air bags, seat belts). The failure mileage was approximately 85,300.

The power steering assist code keeps coming on on the dash every othee day for well over a year now. When that comes on you can barely steer the fricken thing when it happens. Ive been lucky enough to have it happen while driving slow in town and havent had any accidents luckily. Some very close calls though!

Takata recall...they state they have no remedy for this when I put my VIN# in at the airbagrecall.com site and it has been on recall since January 2017. Also we had an issue with the driver's door not unlocking and stuck where someone in the car would not be able to get out without climbing out the window. Had it in the shop for repair even though they have recalled 2013 and above for this very reason. The Ford dealership said the 2012 Ford Fusion was not included. We had to pay $100 (warranty deductible) to have them fix it. I feel if it is known on other model years this one should have been covered.

Ford worked on my Ford Fusion 2012 repaired air conditioner on July 7, 2017, but air went out again on September 6, 2017. Ford dealer refuse to fix the reoccurring problem. In addition, there is a recall on the airbag, but Ford refuses to fix the defected air bag. There is a possibility that the air bag may explode causing injury. While driving I can smell a burnt odor was coming from the air bag. Took vehicle to change the airbag on Sept 6, 2017, but Ford refused to fix the defected air bag, and would not give me a loaner vehicle.

The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and stated they could not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 113,000.

Takata recall I bought a 2012 Ford Fusion on Feb 27 2017 about a week ago thr steering lock up on me while I was pulling out my house while doing research I come to find out this car has a recall of took it to Ford N supposely they fix the. ( I do not believe they did) well due to locking up now they saying the rear lower control arms are bad N they wont fix it. I had nothing to do with this damages that obviously the Ford is covering up. I need help I have 4 kids and I feel the dealership committed fraud by even having this car on the market im stuck with a car dont obviously its a death trap. I have been researching and what im finding out is that Ford keeps lying about all the problems this car has. I am in such shock and sick to my stomach that Ford will rather kill people then to remove a bad product. After power steering failed, car was repaired under a recall notice at local Ford dealership. The steering rack was replaced. 3 hours after picking up the car, when leaving work, the power steering failed again while in motion on a city street going under 40 mph decelerating coming to a red light. Received warning "service power steering now" and "service advanctrac." These are the same warnings received prior to repair. The car went immediately and grossly out of alignment. Above 55 mph, the car shakes severely. Ford dealership says the repair needed falls under the tsb 11-11-3 related to high friction in the control arms; however, the tsb states that this problem only causes the stability/traction instrument cluster to illuminate. The dealership says everything under my car looks to be in good condition and that this has to be the problem, stating that the high friction is causing the power steering pump to lock up which is then failing the power steering all together. This is a safety concern and should be included in the recall on the power steering module. The vehicle has 145,000 miles. It has been driven for 6 years without issue.
