Fusion SE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,580 miles

Battery went dead, jumped it off, cranked fine. Two days later, same problem, had battery checked. Replaced battery, 2 weeks later it was dead again. I took it to Ford and they kept it for 2 days and the engineers finally decided it was the body control module that was draining it. There was a recall on the module for the Ford Focus but not the Fusion. I just unhook the battery overnight to keep it from draining. It is annoying but worth it to keep from having to constantly jump it off.

Has anybody had the same problem? Took the car to Advantage Auto Parts and they said battery, alternator and starter are fine and something is draining on the battery. Had mechanic come by and test it and said the same thing. I have to get a jump start every time to get it going. When I turn it on, the clock is off, the radio comes in AM all static and have to rest each time. This should be something they should recall. Does anybody know if they have or has anybody had theirs fixed and know what it cost! Not sure what to do so will take advice from anyone who has it. Thanks!

My car wont turn over. Just went to start it and it just cut in and out. It didnt soumd like the battery, but more like a computer glitch. The lights still work and door beeps with key in the egnition... and dash lights up when key is in the start position. Windsheild wipers also activated while turned all the way off.

Fusion LES V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,700 miles

Again, go out and won't start. Took it back to Auto Zone and they tested battery and alternator. Battery is not leaking battery acid from negative post. Test show battery is fine. Alternator test shows at first amp was 14 and then 10 minutes later it shows alternator passes test. Also did a diagnostic on car and came up no faults. Being told now after all these problems that my extended warranty expired 750 miles ago.
