Recall states there is a safety defect with the airbags that could cause injury or death. Any safety defect that can cause injury or death makes the vehicle unsafe to drive and places the occupants at risk of personal injury or loss of life. It NHTSA legal and moral responsibility to protect the public from such safety defects. Other than the recall notice, the Ford Motor Company will not provide any detail or update on when they will fix the defect other than to say we will send you a letter. Ford provided a number to call for additional information, but the only information they provide is that there is noting they can do and they will send a letter at some point in the future. I really wish the NHTSA would really do their jobs to protect the public and insure these companies correct these life threatening safety defect and provide the consumers safe alternative transportation until they can fix the life threatening safety defects in the vehicles they have sold. This is the second complaint filed and NHTSA did not respond to the initial complaint. Failure to respond to this complaint will lead to a formal complaint to the oig on your negligence in this matter!

Takata recall. Ford sent recall letter for vehicle airbag defect. They say the replacment is not available. I have contacted local dealer, and national call number to complain and try to get repair of the recall defect. It is not available. No one knows when it will be available. Maybe months. I was told the part must be designed and mfg, before available. I requested interim repair or loaner. None is available. I told them my concern of driving vehicle with defect. They say Ford does not know of any problem with the airbags. If no problem, why are they recalling? my vehicle re-sell value is lost with the defect present. I think Ford is not taking care of this recall. Sending me a letter notice, with no fix, is nothing. I cannot sell, replace, get a new car or quit driving the car while I wait for Ford.

Takata recall-I received a letter from Ford this month (03/2017) that my vehicle was affected. My VIN is not listed on the NHTSA website and is not available to your representative when I called the NHTSA. I called Ford hq, and my car is affected. I do not feel safe driving my car (I live in Florida-a "zone a", high-risk state) and drive frequently. I was told by a representative when I called Ford that the NHTSA has stated that the cars are perfectly safe to drive and that I should not be concerned. I searched your website and did not find any information stating this. When I called, a representative from the NHTSA told me that this is not correct and that the NHTSA has not released any such statement. I thought it was important for you to know that Ford representatives are using your name and credibility as an Agency to deceive their customers and lead them to believe that they are perfectly safe driving cars with takata airbags.

Ford Motor Company has notified me that the vehicle has a serious safety defect with the airbag system where the inflator may rupture resulting in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. As this statement indicates the defect can cause life threatening injuries this defect makes the vehicle unsafe to drive as it puts the driver and passenger at risk of serious injury or death due to this known safety defect. Ford Motor Company representative state they do not have the part to make the necessary repairs to correct the serious life safety defect with the vehicle and do not know when they will have the parts. This is a know life threatening safety defect that places the occupants of the vehicle at risk of serious injury or death every time the vehicle is driven placing Ford Motor Company and the NHTSA criminally liable of any injuries and deaths that may occur due to their negligence in removing those vehicles from the roads and providing the owners a safe alternative until the manufacturers can produce the parts and make the necessary repairs to correct the serious life threatening safety defect in these vehicles.
