I should be able to play music off my phone through the USB Port in the car.

My phone is the latest Iphone 6, so that should not be an issue. Even with my Iphone 4 I had the same problem. Now I really only use the USB port to charge my phone and I use the audio jack to play music and movies through the car speakers.
