The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving at a low speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and a "power steering assist fault" message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic plugged the vehicle to a machine, but the diagnosis was unknown. The contact called winner Ford (856-428-4000 located at 250 haddonfield-berlin rd, cherry hill, NJ 08034) where the dealer stated that the vehicle was included in an unknown recall, but there was a fee for diagnosing the vehicle. The contact then called ace Ford (856-845-6600 located at 487 mantua pike, woodbury, NJ 08096) where the dealer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall for the failure; however there was a recall on the seat belts. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that a recall for the power steering was completed in 2015 and the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000...updated 10/25/17

While traveling though the mountains of West Virginia suddenly the temperature began to steadily increase to where the gauge was halfway between normal and hot. I slowed the vehicle from the speed limit to about 55mph which brought the temperature back to normal. As we continued on the trip the temperature would spike and go back to normal with decreased speed. After the initial spike was noticed I plugged a data logger into the car to record engine temperature and monitor more closely. The temperature seems to be very erratic and several times reached a temperature of 233 degrees before I decreased speed again. This seems to be very hot for an engine to be getting and is greatly concerning considering the most recent recall on overheating and potential fire. I am confident that the vehicle would have overheated and broken down if I had not taken action as it did a year prior when it was supposedly fixed.

Transmission shifts rough from 1st>2nd gear and very harsh from 2nd>3rd gear. Also at times, when pressing the gas to accelerate quickly, the transmission will not shift or do anything, it just sits there and thinks for a few seconds and then slams into gear. This is all happening when in motion. It is also jerky at times when taking off from a stop. When shifting from park to reverse the vehicle slams into gear causing a harsh jolt after the vehicle has sat greater than 4 hours. I have been to a local Ford dealership on four occasions. The technicians claim this is normal for the 2013 Fusion.

Will not shift out of park. Gear shifter will move, gear shifter seems to operate. However, car does not recognize that gear shifter has been moved. Does not attempt to engage other gears at all, simply will not recognize anything outside of park. When problem initially happened, began to try to go in reverse (was in park) for a moment before defaulting to park. Vehicle was stationary, in driveway.

The test drive on my Ford went smoothly. However, later that month my vehicle began shifting hard. It revs and the engine pulls. I have to barely accelerate to get it to shift even then it shifts extremely hard. I informed the local Ford dealership of the issue and I was told that all of the 1.6 ecoboost models like mines shift hard. That is ridiculous. This issue was never fixed. I also experienced another issue: My gas tank door did not operate correctly. It felt like a spring came out because the door would blow open while I am driving.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact heard an abnormal noise while driving the vehicle. The dealer replaced the battery, but it failed to correct the noise. While making a turn, there was a sudden loss of power and a warning indicator randomly illuminated for run power and the vehicle stalled several times without warning. The contact had to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road. The contact had to restart the vehicle a few times due to the failure. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in service campaign number: 14N02 to address the PCM reprogramming. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

The car stalls. It can be restarted and driven again for an indeterminate amount of time but then stalls again. This started about 6 months ago and has become more frequent over the last month. Most of the time it happens when driving at low speed such as through a parking lot or on side streets. A search of the web shows several results of the same issue

Placed my vehicle in reverse, coming out of a parking lot, I tried to place my car in drive and the gear shifter was stuck.I called the tow truck, because I couldn't move my car. The dealership service department told me it was a broken transmission cable that needed to be replaced. My vehicle has 56200 miles and does not fall into the powertrain factory warranty.

November 2016 while I was coming from the grocery store my car suddenly stalled and completely stopped. I immediately started the car back up and drove for a good 2 minutes and it did the same thing, but this time I was in the street. After letting my vehicle sit for 15 minutes it did eventually start back up and drove smoothly. But that wasn't the last time my car would just suddenly stop. In December I took my car to the dealership for an oil change and told them what had happen to my car. The check my fluids and told me nothing was wrong (which was a lie). Everyday since November if I drive my car too much, it shuts off. If I am on the freeway in traffic, my car will just turn off. Now February, I received an error message (engine coolant over temperature) and my car will not move at all. Call Ford motor and was told my car wasn't included in the recall in regards to the engine, contact the dealership and I have to pay for it to be towed to them, because the part might not be included in my warranty. My car has 76,000. I do my oil changes and maintenance on time, and always go to the dealership. My car lights in the inside turns on while I'm driving without me even pushing them (creepy). My seat belt doesn't really restrain me and my seat doesn't really move back and forwards like it should.

My check engine light came on while I was on my way home from work. While sitting idle at a stoplight, the car warned the engine was overheating so I pulled over and shut it off for 20 minutes. The next morning when I went out to my car, I noticed a large amount of clear fluid had leaked out. On my way to the dealership, the check engine light went off and (according to the dealership) stayed off until I picked the car back up and started driving home. After running diagnostics at the dealership, it turns out that the engine bypass solenoid valve shorted out due to a faulty coolant tee on the heater core inlet. After doing some research, it seems that this was a recall on 2013 Ford Fusion SE 1.6L cars. I contacted my local Ford dealership and was told that my specific 2013 Ford Fusion SE 1.6L was not part of this recall (although it was included in three other recalls from Ford). After a simple search, I discovered that this seems to be a widespread issue with this car-regardless of the recall. Apparently other 2013 Ford Fusion owners not included in the recall are experiencing the exact same engine coolant problem. It also seems the original recall had to be reopened to include additional vehicles. Perhaps it needs to be reopened again.

Hello, my name is [xxx] and I bought a brand new vehicle from Ford three years ago and just recently, when my car was in park, I shifted the gear and it went in reverse. I got scared and shut the car off. It did not turn on after that and it had to get towed to galpin Ford in North hills. Ford told me that it was an eroded transmission cable that I had to pay out of pocket to repair. I do not understand why my brand new car has an eroded part in it. I live in southern California where are there no hazard weather conditions. I googled how you could have an eroded cable and it is from acid. Is there something else wrong with my car and I am in danger to drive it. Ford has been unhelpful and basically telling me there is nothing they can do. I feel like Ford parts are not up to safety standards by my case and would like an investigation done with Ford. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you! We have had our 2103 Fusion now for 2 months. 1 week after having the car it began to make a humming noise around the gas tank area, then when you slowed down for a red light the car would stall and be hard to start back. Sent the car back to the dealership to only be told they couldn't find anything wrong. Once we received the car back we drove it for a couple of days and the car started making the noise again and would stall again. Called dealership and took car back again still nothing. Received car back and began to notice when we was fueling the car that the RPM gauge would go up and down and then the vehicle would quit and be very hard to start back. While driving the vehicle about 3 weeks ago it stalled again and would not start back, finally after about 30 mins of trying the car started. Sent car back to dealership again and they have had the car 3 weeks and they are saying they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle. I asked if they had put fuel in it like I advised they proceeded to tell me no. I advised them when they did to let me know what the car did. We no longer feel safe driving the car. I believe we either have a fuel pump issue or the vehicle is pulling air in from the fueling system and is causing it to air lock. The vehicle has quit about 12-15 times in the 2 months we have had
