I have had repeated problems with this vehicle, and now it is on my credit record because it is beyond repair, and I returned it to the finance company where I purchased it from. I had to replace the lug nuts because the factory lug wrench wouldn't work, the engine ran hot (regularly) leading to long term engine damage, the transmission had been replaced twice since I began financing the car. The car only had 64K miles when I began financing it, by 77K, the transmission had to be replaced twice (first time in Dec.18, and then Jan.19), and it still shifted hard (at times) and still made a strange sound. I am involved in a class action suit over the transmission, but the repairs were aftermarket (and media indicates that even the manufacturer is not capable of fixing the problem) in approximately the month of may, 2019, the vehicle also would not start (key would not turn/no lights came on, etc.). I contacted the carmaker, and they had stated that they'd "never heard of this kind of issue before", but they did offer to purchase the vehicle back from me (at market value), but they became disinterested when I told them that I was financing the vehicle from elsewhere.

Initial ignition of the car results in engine stall out post abnormal ignition time. Fusion will display "power run active" then "press brake to start". this will repeat after another ignition attempt and re-show the same messages on the dashboard. After a third ignition attempt the engine does not stall out. The problem is not a sudden onset but initial symptoms of the issue is that the car will stall out after 10 seconds of driving. Initial re-ignition post stall results in normal function of the car without extra issue. However, this event becomes increasingly common over time until it simply stalls out immediately post ignition. Despite multiple trips to a Ford certified professional mechanic, no codes are given by the computer which renders diagnosis of the faulty part or cause of the issue near impossible. Problem may present itself as faulty alternator, battery, or starter. However, even after replacement of any possibly faulty aforementioned parts the problem still persists.

I contacted my local Ford dealer regarding the recall listed for my car: "May 13,2019 manufacturer recall number19S16 NHTSA recall number19V362" I was told that my car had no recall and that I'd have to come in to look into purchasing a entire new shifter linkage cable. This bushing came off once I started the car this morning, tried to put it in drive and the car didn't make it past reverse. After I tried to put the car back into park the car stayed in reverse even thought the shifter was in park. After turning off the car it was unable to be turned back on because the transmission wasn't in park even thought the shifter read it was.

While operating my vehicle from a stop to a rolling position, the transmission is not propelling the car forward like it should. I compare it to a manual transmission scenario where the clutch isn't released all the way, so the rpms rev-up, but the car moves forward a very slow pace. This has been going on for about 2 months now. Nothing seems to resolve the issue. This occurs everyday, regardless of engine temperature or weather.

My vehicle was parked in front of the gas pump. When I got ready to leave the store I tried to put my car in drive. The shifter would not move out of park. On the dash it showed the car was in neutral and the car acted as if it were in neutral. The emergency brake had to be put on once it was pushed away from the gas pumps. The car then had to be towed home because there was and still is no fix for the recall on my vehicle. The recall was issued in may and there is still no remedy but tge dealership insisted that I pay out of pocket for a temporary fix then be reimbursed later....if there was any kind of fix even a temporary one my vehicle shouldve just been fixed. I am not at fault here.

Ford has yet to remedy a solution for the transmission cable shifter on the Ford Fusion. My vehicle shifter is in the park position, however, the dashboard displays that the car in in neutral. Previously, I had parked my car, shut of the ignition and exited. My car proceeded to move back and struck my husband's car. Luckily, it was only my husband's car and not another vehicle, object, or person. This issue initially was announced in July of 2018. I received a letter in the mail of May 2019. Currently, my car will no longer operate. The shifter will not move at this point, therefore, I'm unable to operate my car. When I contacted multiple Ford dealerships in the area, as well as corporate, I was told that there is nothing that can be done at this point and that Ford will administer an additional letter when the issue can be addressed. Months have passed and Ford has done nothing. The safety letter advised, that Ford's "commitment, together with your dealer, is to provide the highest level of service and support. Sadly, this is not the case.
