My car has been skipping and hesitation with power train or transmission while driving whenever it wants. It’'s nothing specific to make that happen. Last week back power windows quit working. Now....started car in drive, steering was locked. Drove back and forth, tried different gears, tried restarting, it finally started by turning key over. Came home, parked in driveway, can’T get steering to unlock at all now! I am over an hour away from home, so whenever it decides to turn, I can head home. But after reading these reviews, do I dare" does Ford want us owners to die, or the innocent we may hit" either way I would sue because they cannot deny knowing there’'s a problem!

The shift cable became disconnected from the transmission allowing the shift lever to move through the positions, but the vehicle would not move out of park. Fortunately, the vehicle was stuck in park and we could not pull it out of the driveway, but if this had happened when pulling in and it hadn't gone into park, it could have rolled down our driveway and hurt someone. This is the same issue described by Ford recall number 18S20, however my vehicle appears to not be included in the recall even though it is the same make model and year of the recalled vehicles and made at the same manufacturing facility in Mexico that is covered by the recall.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving and attempting to shift gears, the shifter failed. The contact stated that the instrument panel displayed (P), which meant the gear was in park. The vehicle began to roll forward and the contact had to apply the emergency brake to stop it from moving forward. An independent mechanic came to the contact's residence and unlocked the shifter. The vehicle was able to be driven again, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to san tan Ford (1429 E motorplex loop, gilbert, AZ 85297, (480) 821-3200) where it was diagnosed that the shifting cable bushing needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train). The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

Arrived home placed my car on park and when I lifted my foot off the break the vehicle kept driving forward hitting a snow bank. Put my foot on break and turned off the vehicle. Tried to start the car but it says "transmission not on park" on dash. Car will not start. For safety I set parking break. Contacted for due to recall # 18S20 and was advised that according to my VIN # the recall does not apply to my vehicle. Exactly what the recall describes is what has happened to my vehicle. I have no other transportation. This is a very unsafe situation.

I was on a city street. I was shifting from drive to reverse and the car kept rolling forward. Even when I shift to what thought was park and turned the car off and try to start again the dash read car not in park. I had someone come to help me and found the bushing to the shift cable snapped. So he placed a tube in the hole where the bushing was to hold it place to shift and got me bat home to pa. I went to the Ford dealer who said it would cost $500 to fix. I checked online and there is a recall for this exact problem but not my VIN# why not this is the same problem as recall# 18S20.

My 2013 Ford Fusion automatic steering cable bushing fell out while I was in line at the bank. I was unable to move my vehicle and had it towed. We looked at recalls on 1/7/2019 and found a recall but not specific to my VIN number. How can the same thing happen to my vehicle and not be covered under a recall? I was in danger and had to use my parking brake immediately when I thought my car was in park.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. After the contact placed the vehicle in park, it began to roll forward and the gear became stuck and would not move at all. The contact had to place a hair pin in the gear shifter and bushing in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and the emergency brake had to be applied. The bushing had also rusted. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called lakeland auto mall (1430 w memorial blvd, lakeland, fl 33815, (863) 682-1100), but no assistance was provided. On 12/15/2018 I went to reverse out of my garage once I was out I put the car into drive and stepped on the gas only to have my car continue to go in reverse. I hit the brakes and put the car in park. I tried moving the shifter to other gears and you could tell the shifter was loose, it was not engaging in any gear other than park. I had my car towed and the repair place told me that the shifter cable was broken. Since this happened over the weekend I had time to google this issue and find that there was a recall but my VIN number was not a part of that. Its a shame that this recall doesn't count for more vehicles. Its a complete defect on Ford part and its not a cheap repair.

Well I noticed problems with my car maybe a month after I got the car took it back to the dealer ship they didnt see any problems but im having transmission problems, problems with the steering, I have had a coolant problem fixed already. The shocks went out on the care within less than a year. Having problems with the fueling system. Also having problems with the left light system. They have only to recalls with my VIN number of things that I had already gotten fixed. So im really concerned about the issues that are going on with my car and feel that it really need to be addressed. Every thing that has happend is while the car is in motion.

Vehicle was parked off road on a dirt sloped part of land. Brake was depressed and vehicle's transmission was placed in park, although the P indicator on the dash did not illuminate. Upon releasing the brake, the vehicle slowly began rolling in reverse. I depressed the brake pedal a again and upon letting go the vehicle continued to roll backwards. I engagred the parking brake in which the vehicle stayed in place. I tried to start the car, but engine would not turnover. I popped the hood to look for any problems and found the tramission linkage completely off tramission. I manually turned the transmission selector all the way fordward to park, resulting in the dash P (park) illuminating. I the set the linkage back on the selector and ziptied the linkage and selector together to make it home.

Vehicle seems to have a humming thumping noise and vibration when ran on speeds over 40 mph. Initially I thought the tires had gone bad, and ireplaced all four of them as well as the lug nuts due to swelling and got the vehicle realigned at a good year service center. After the process was completed I drove and car and the same noice as well as vibration persisted. It can be felt on the drivers side on the floor as well as the break and gas pedal at times. Tsb 16-0105 highlights the issue, but only for hybrid electric models.
