I was on a city street. I was shifting from drive to reverse and the car kept rolling forward. Even when I shift to what thought was park and turned the car off and try to start again the dash read car not in park. I had someone come to help me and found the bushing to the shift cable snapped. So he placed a tube in the hole where the bushing was to hold it place to shift and got me bat home to pa. I went to the Ford dealer who said it would cost $500 to fix. I checked online and there is a recall for this exact problem but not my VIN# why not this is the same problem as recall# 18S20.

My 2013 Ford Fusion automatic steering cable bushing fell out while I was in line at the bank. I was unable to move my vehicle and had it towed. We looked at recalls on 1/7/2019 and found a recall but not specific to my VIN number. How can the same thing happen to my vehicle and not be covered under a recall? I was in danger and had to use my parking brake immediately when I thought my car was in park.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. After the contact placed the vehicle in park, it began to roll forward and the gear became stuck and would not move at all. The contact had to place a hair pin in the gear shifter and bushing in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and the emergency brake had to be applied. The bushing had also rusted. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called lakeland auto mall (1430 w memorial blvd, lakeland, fl 33815, (863) 682-1100), but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 106,000.

On 12/15/2018 I went to reverse out of my garage once I was out I put the car into drive and stepped on the gas only to have my car continue to go in reverse. I hit the brakes and put the car in park. I tried moving the shifter to other gears and you could tell the shifter was loose, it was not engaging in any gear other than park. I had my car towed and the repair place told me that the shifter cable was broken. Since this happened over the weekend I had time to google this issue and find that there was a recall but my VIN number was not a part of that. Its a shame that this recall doesn't count for more vehicles. Its a complete defect on Ford part and its not a cheap repair.

Well I noticed problems with my car maybe a month after I got the car took it back to the dealer ship they didnt see any problems but im having transmission problems, problems with the steering, I have had a coolant problem fixed already. The shocks went out on the care within less than a year. Having problems with the fueling system. Also having problems with the left light system. They have only to recalls with my VIN number of things that I had already gotten fixed. So im really concerned about the issues that are going on with my car and feel that it really need to be addressed. Every thing that has happend is while the car is in motion.

Vehicle was parked off road on a dirt sloped part of land. Brake was depressed and vehicle's transmission was placed in park, although the P indicator on the dash did not illuminate. Upon releasing the brake, the vehicle slowly began rolling in reverse. I depressed the brake pedal a again and upon letting go the vehicle continued to roll backwards. I engagred the parking brake in which the vehicle stayed in place. I tried to start the car, but engine would not turnover. I popped the hood to look for any problems and found the tramission linkage completely off tramission. I manually turned the transmission selector all the way fordward to park, resulting in the dash P (park) illuminating. I the set the linkage back on the selector and ziptied the linkage and selector together to make it home.

Vehicle seems to have a humming thumping noise and vibration when ran on speeds over 40 mph. Initially I thought the tires had gone bad, and ireplaced all four of them as well as the lug nuts due to swelling and got the vehicle realigned at a good year service center. After the process was completed I drove and car and the same noice as well as vibration persisted. It can be felt on the drivers side on the floor as well as the break and gas pedal at times. Tsb 16-0105 highlights the issue, but only for hybrid electric models.

Ford shifter cable bushing recall my Ford Fusion SE was manufactured at the hermosillo stamping and assembly plant on January 10, 2013 - 4 months before the active recall applies to the shifter cable bushing on May 15, 2013. My bushing came off and is Ford is claiming as it is just outside the recall window, it is a completely non-recall related $500 repair. I discovered the issue when putting the vehicle into park on the side of the road (parallel parking) and the vehicle stayed in reverse. I had to turn off the vehicle, apply the parking brake, and, by hand, reach down to the transmission to put the vehicle back into park.

Ford currently has a recall on 2013 Fusion (recall 18S20) this involves the bushing on the shift lever cable bushing to detach from the transmission, preventing the vehicle from being securely in the park position and the car to roll. This occurred to my 2013 Fusion on 11/17/18 leaving me stranded with the vehicle in the repair shop now. Ford will not honor the repair saying my vehicle is not part of the safety recall and I have to pay out of pocket though this recall is for 2013 Fusion.

I'm on lunch at work, and go to put my car in drive.. nothing won't budge, so I try putting it reverse nothing its stuck in park. After waiting 4 hours for a tow truck, and get it to the dealership I'm told its the bushing cable which has a recall on it... just not my VIN. Also the repairs are going to cost 500 dollars, and the part is on back order for three weeks. So not only do I have to pay for a rental car for three weeks, I have to pay 500 dollars for something that should absolutely be covered under a recall.
