There is a recall on Ford Fusion for shifter cable coming loose which occurred to my Fusion I was informed at the Ford dealer that my vehicle was not part of the recall so I had to pay $500 to have it repaired.since this is the same problem on the same year model vehicles in the recall, I think all Fusion should be included in recall before some one is in an accident or injured

Shift cable off transmission cable bushing. Parked at work, shifted to park and took foot off brake and began rolling. Shifter was stuck in the park position but car was in drive. Used E-brake avoid rolling into vehicle ahead of me. Bob allen Ford in overland park, ks completed the repairs and noted "C/S the car will not start it thinks it is in drive found shift cable off transmission replaced cable bushing and adjusted cable, verified operation. This is known recall on 2013 and 2014 Ford Fusion manufactured at the hermosillo Mexico plant, but my car manufactured in December of 2013, does not fall within the dates on the recall so I was required to pay for repairs, parts, labor, and a tow to the service center totaling $447.12. Advised by bob allen Ford to file a complaint and/or contact Ford about the issue and request a refund.

Transmission ( outside linkage and double clutch ) both of these problems occur when you are driving and could be very dangerous. I have tried to speak with over 5 different individuals at Ford cust. Serv and and 4 different people at 2 different Ford dealerships. These issues have been fixed as recalls for thousands of other Ford owners but they refuse to do anything for me. Not only was my family put in danger, but the cost of these repairs is over $8500. The value of this vehicle is 4000, and I still owe 9000. Please help me find a way to resolve this issue. I find it hard to believe that it is a coincidence that my car just happens to have the same problems yet they refuse to fix mine. No recall has been issued for me, yet they have issued recalls for these same problems for others, ,,not a coincidence, thank you..vehicle was in motion on a city street for both occurrences. These recalls are common knowledge so I have nothing to uplaod

My car is a 2014 Ford Fusion I purchased at the dealership 2 years ago. Never had a problem until recently. After I turn on my car and switch gear to "drive" my car will shut down within 20 feet. I have to park the car and wait a few minutes and try again; it always happens later on during the day when driving off a parking lot. The main problem is that the "check engine" light never comes of, but there is certainly a problem when the car shuts down on it's own; it never shuts off while driving at high speed, but I am truly concern with this matter. I took my car to the dealership to get to the bottom of the problem. I was advised it will cost me $110 for a diagnostic, which I paid. I waited for 4 hours and according to the mechanic the antifreeze is mixing with the engine oil and that's what cause the car to stall occasionally and the cost of repair will be $2,100. When I checked the car along with a personal mechanic there is no indication of anything mixing with the engine oil, the oil is clean is not milky and it smells fine. Bottom line I am not happy with the fact that there is no recall for this serious issue and even more so that Ford dealership was so dishonest about the car symptoms. Needless to say I will not buy a Ford again and still don't know what's wrong with my car

I had an issue on my 14 Fusion. Of the shifter separating from the transmission. I noticed the problem when I shifted my car into the park position and removed my foot from the break, allowing my car to pull forward again. Thankfully I was in a parking area with plenty of room. No one was hurt and no property damage was sustained. This problem leaves you with no transmission controls. Ford does have a recall on the very problem my car experienced but, unfortunately for me my car was not included, leaving me to fix the problem myself. Ford needs to expand the recall since it is obviously a bigger problem then they believe with my car having this same failure. The last recall they fixed, seatbelt on front passenger, has only had more issues of retracting then before the service, does make me wonder if it's not better that I repaired the failure personally. It failed at 90K but I have had no more issues after a 20 dollar repair.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While operating the vehicle, the transmission would not shift into gear. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who replaced the transmission pump and torque converter. Approximately two months later, the transmission shift cable bushing detached and caused the vehicle to roll backwards. The vehicle was taken to town Ford (1680 whittlesey rd, columbus, ga), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train). The contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 137,000.

Takata recall - I was trying to park my car and as I moved the gear shift to reverse the dash reflected that the car was still in drive. Only way I could get my car to stop was putting on the emergency break. I discovered that there is a recall for this issue recall number 18V471000 but because my VIN number is not listed for the recall Ford dealership refuses to fix it without charge.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to place the gear into park; however, the gear shifter failed to engage. The contact had to break the plastic gear shifter mechanism to place the gear into park. The vehicle was towed to malloy Ford of winchester (1911 valley avenue, winchester, va 22601, (540) 667-4434) and the gear shifter clutch was replaced. The repair did not correct the failure. A few weeks later, the contact was unable to shift gears. The vehicle was towed back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission's front clutch slipped and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train) and NHTSA campaign number: 18V169000 (power train). The failure mileage was 195,000.

While car was stopped I moved the shift lever into park but the dashboard indicated car was in neutral and when I took my foot off the brake the car started to roll. Shift lever was locked in the park and would not let me move it into another position. Car allowed me to turn off and remove key without car being in park. Emergency brake was turned on to keep it from rolling. This appears to be the same issue indicated in a recall listed on this website but per Ford there is no recall for my car. I would like this issued reviewed to have a recall placed on it.

Update to NHTSA complaint # 11153163. Diagnostic on vehicle has been done by auto nation Ford in South fort worth Texas. It was determined that the intercooler was defective leaking coolant into air intake and into turbo. The same thing that Ford has recalls on all the other ecoboost engines to include the 1.0, 1.6, 2.0 and the 3.5. mechanism advised it needs to be replaced or the vehicle could overheat and cause vehicle to burst into flames while driving down road. Service writer bret advised auto nation will not repair vehicle until a recall is announced. That it's a customer pay. Vehicle has 61,140 miles on it. Vehicle overheated on highway in July 2018 and we found a Firestone open. Firestone ase mechanic tested for leaks and found non. This mechanic advised that the intercooler was more than likely leaking coolant into the intake and was being burned up inside the motor. He advised to watch the coolant level and see if vehicle continues to disappear with no leaks seen. He advised if it continues to disappear take it to a Ford house to check because it could catch on fire. Coolant continued to disappear so we took it to auto nation Ford. I'm assuming this vehicle needs to catch on fire like the other ecoboost tend to do or is there a possibility for someone to be procative before a tragedy. This vehicle had 56,300 miles on it when it was at Firestone. Well under the power train warranty but it appears auto nation does not want to be proactive. The overheating issue is documented on Firestone customer invoice # 082399 on 7/29/2018. Firestone store #351338 san marcos tx.

Has rattle under passenger floor when fuel tank is 3/4 to full in park or in gear at complete stop or just creeping below 5 mph and have read online about the baffles breaking in the fuel tank causing this issue also read it causes air in fuel line which could be a safety issue while traveling down highway if engine cuts out due to this issue, , also drivers door doesn't always latch 100 % sometimes have to open and close door several times to shut completely and has started doing this since October of 2018 also transmission shifts funny when cold going from park to reverse has very harsh engagement and 3rd shifts very firm when going

July 29 2018 driving North on I35 near san marcus Texas. Vehicle overheated and went into limp mode. Made it to Firestone store. Ase certified tech. Diagnosed and found no leaks and determined that anti-freeze was more than likely being dumped into turbo which may possibly cause engine fire like the ecoboost 1.0, 1.6, 2.5 and 3.5 ecoboost has done and has been recalled. Also found that air filter was full of anti-freeze. Vehicle is currently at auto nation Ford in South ft worth waiting for diagnostic after thanksgiving. I'm afraid to let my wife drive the car not knowing if it's going to burst into flames. Can you please let me know if a recall is soon coming on the 1.5 ecoboost. Thanks for your time, jeremy
