The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. Upon starting the vehicle, the gear shifter failed to shift from park into drive. Upon inspecting the transmission and the shifter cable, the contact became aware that the shifter cable was fractured. An independent mechanic was contacted and confirmed that the linkage cable was fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

The vehicle was towed to apple Ford Lincoln (8800 stanford blvd, columbia, md) where it was diagnosed that the shifter cable became detached and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
