Fusion SE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,900 miles

Stupid car. My wife drives very little (6900 miles in 4 years) and battery has died 3 times even though car is driven every week or two. She wants to keep the car but is frustrated by battery dying every twelve to 16 months. Works fine today but the next day it is stone cold dead. AAA put in two new batteries but says they can't replace again because car isn't driven enough to keep battery working. Ford dealer denies issue is because of charging or trickle leak.

I bought this car to save on gas driving out of town to work 5 days a week. Had the car for 61 days. Got in the car on day 62 turned the key, nothing. good thing I had a second vehicle. Got home that day charged the battery, it lasted for about three days and the dam thing was dead again. I took the car to advance auto had the battery tested and the alternator and there was nothing wrong with either. call the dealership, and they tell me it would be an out of pocket expense. Ford get your sh*t together and fix this problem. I have always been a ford man but not now.

I went out at 7:00 A.M. today to start my vehicle, completely dead. I Used my Stanley 1000 Jumpit kit 500 amp to jump start and reset system. I'm getting tired of Ford Motor Co building crap vehicles. I informed them that I will never buy any of there products again, people pay big money for the trash they are building. When I go out to start the vehicle I don't expect to waste a half a day doing it. Previous complaints 1/26/2017, 4/19/2017, 5/5/2017 and 2/21/2018.

This is the fifth dead battery. As soon as roadside assistance comes and jump it, it is fine. It has been to the dealership 3 times and they look at me as if I'm stupid. The last time I couldn't even unlock the doors so that my husband could jump start the car. Roadside assistance had to unlock it, since I have keyless entry. Little did I know that there is a key slot that is hidden to the right of the door handle.

On another occasion when there was an electrical storm, something caused my lights to flash.

On another occasion, I went to bed with all windows closed and doors locked to awaken in the morning to all windows down and doors unlocked. Worst car ever.

It seems for recent months, I would get in the car and I would turn key and nothing. Happened on occasion. I would turn key off, wait a few seconds and it would start. On Friday last week, I had to take my wife's car and left her mine. The earful I got because the "f'ing" car would not start and she had to walk to work. Got home tried it several times. Nothing. During the weekend, tried several more times. Nothing.

Went to push car back in the driveway so I could jump start it with my wife's car. And it starts. Went to start this AM. Nothing again. After 15 attempts, it starts. I got to work, but don't know if I will get home. Googled to see it there were other complaints... Low and behold.

Thanks

This problem started shortly after leasing the car, the battery has been replaced 3 times and there is no resolution for the issue. They are now thinking that the issue is caused by the keyless entry panel. I don't see how it can drain a battery in the matter of 3 days. The dealer had the car for a month and we were forced to take it back, even though they found nothing wrong with the car and it was driven one day and three days later the battery was dead again. So back to the dealer the cars goes.... in the past 7 weeks we've only had the car for 4 days. Of course since its a lease Ford doesn't want to replace or refund anything at all. They want me to pay for a car to sit at the dealership while they scratch their heads trying to figure it out. I have seen a lot of this same issue from older models of the car....
