Lights suddenly appeared while I was driving, read manual "turned car off and back on, light went away". A few days later the light are on again. This time they will not go off. It's impossible for me to drive or steer car, no power steering. Too late to call any repair shops (12:30 at night). I hope that this is covered by my extended warranty, I've only owned the car for 6 months.

Thanks to the Comanche Ford dealership service department, they were able to provide attention to my issue and fix it without problem. They recommended I carry a 10mm socket driver in glove compartment, if it should happen again, which it hasn't thus far.

This was a sudden shut down of power steering at highway speed. Warning lights came on to safely stop immediately. Drove without power steering to nearest town with Ford dealership for help.

I've had plenty new cars and never ever have I had to spend $1800 dollars on a repair before it was even paid off. The dealer has the new parts installed, re-aligned the front end then calls me to say that Ford is having a problem with the software and they are working on the issue. The dealer is currently unable to complete the programming. May take a few more days. Seems to me Ford is very much aware that they have a serious design flaw and they should be recalling to make corrections at no charge. Or...at least not $1800 bucks! The new parts have a two year warranty.....so? Am I to expect to have to spend $1800 every two years? It was very scary. I was driving down the road, and the power steering just went out. I had a very hard time trying to get the vehicle to the dealer. I should have stuck with a Chevy!!!! Very upset about the whole ordeal. I just didn't ever expect to have a major repair bill before the car was paid off.

Fusion SE 2.5L I-4

Started car and several warnings popped up on display..."Hill Start Assist Not Available", "Steering Assist Fault Service Required", and "Service AdvanceTrac". Steering wheel felt like it was still locked... Turns out it was just extremely difficult to turn. I'm 6'3" 200+ lbs. If it's difficult for me to turn, it would be impossible for most people. If this had failed while the car was in motion, someone could have been seriously injured or worse. Ford had this same problem on 2011 to 2012 Fusions and issued a recall and now it's STILL happening on 2015 models. This needs to be recalled immediately as Ford never really fixed the problem.

Excerpt from 2011 to 2012 Fusion recall:

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 423,000 vehicles (actual 422,814) including certain 2011 - 2013

Ford Taurus and Flex vehicles, Lincoln MKS and MKT vehicles, for certain 2011 - 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles, and for certain 2011 Mercury Milan vehicles in North America for a potential intermittent electrical connection in the steering gear that might result in the loss of electric power steering assist while driving. If this happens, the steering system defaults to manual steering mode, making the vehicle more difficult to steer, especially at lower speeds. This could result in the increased risk of a crash.
