Fusion

  • 63,000 miles
When driving on city streets, the Ford Fusion jerks hard and sputters when it changes gears (automatic transmission). When accelerating on the highway the vehicle will jerk hard upon pressing down on the gas pedal. During deceleration, when exiting the highway, from speeds of 70 mph to 35 mph, the vehicle will also sputter and jerk from the gears changing. The vehicle was taken in to a Ford Motor Company service department and no repairs were conducted due to an "inability of the technician to replicate the symptoms of the car."

I went to put my vehicle in park and upon turning off the car it began to roll forward when I took my foot off the brake when exiting the car. I immediately jumped back in and hit the emergency brake and the car stopped before hitting a tree. I went to turn the car back on and the dash displayed ' transmission not in park' and showed it being in reverse when the shifter was in fact in the parked position. Had to have my car towed home and will need to have it towed to the dealership. I received the recall notice back in May 2018. The car has 83,000 miles.

  • 80,000 miles
On Friday I was backing into a parking space and put the gear shift in park. The gear was in park but the car was still reversing! I immediately applied the emergency brake to avoid reversing down the hill into the tree at the bottom.I then turned the car off to see if that will assist but was not able to restart the vehicle. The dashboard continuously flashed transmission not in park! I contacted Ford which stated there was a recall on the car and to bring it in. I called Ford towing for a tow truck at 11 am and was not picked up until 7 pm by the time I reached the dealer the service department was closed. The next morning the mechanic reached out to me and stated he was going to be able to fix the issue and I would have to pay for it! which none of the problems stemming from the car was from something I did I do not feel as though I should pay especially when I received a recall letter stating the expenses will be covered when the parts become available. I spoke with someone from Ford and she told me to not pay anything to the dealer because the parts have not been approved. Yes they gave me a loner for the time being but it frustrates me that I have to deal with this and keep getting the run around on my vehicle. I am fed up with Ford at this point they should give me a new car since they do not even have an estimate as to when the part will become available!
