At approximately 125000 miles, the vehicle displayed the check engine light and was experiencing difficulty restarting after refueling. Local auto parts store code reader displayed etc P1450. Online research pointed to a faulty cannister purge valve. This fault and accompanying symptoms were outlined in recall # 18S32. This recall is not currently applicable to my VIN. Diagnosis performed by sanders Ford in swansboro, nc confirmed faulty purge valve.

I've had the car for about 8 months now. First the seats stopped moving back and forth. No warranty on the car so took it to my local Ford and they said it was off its track. A month later the same problem occurred and they said my seat stopped sending commands to the computer. Now three months later my car randomly started making a loud rattling noise. Got louder every time I started the car. So once again took it to my nearby Ford. They checked it out and said my flex plate has cracked all around and that it would be a $1600 repair. This car is still fairly new. Looked into it and it seems a lot of people are having the same experience and Ford is aware of the malfunction after many complaints but still has not made it a recall. Very upsetting that I will be without a car for a week and have to pay $1600 just to get it fixed when it seems to be a mass problem. Took it to a outside shop and they said they've heard about the problem before and it's more than just the flexplate but there's no one around that can do the job.

  • 53,000 miles
My 2016 Ford Fusion has approximately 53,000 miles on it and threw three check engine lights in the time since I purchased it (with about 18K on it). I took it in immediately every time. On the third time I was told there was coolant leaking into the block and it would need a new engine. It was 2weeks past warranty. I have researched, despite knowing nothing about engines, and found that this appears to be common. Ford refused to pay for the whole replacement. They are now saying my turbo charger is bad and I am out for 3600?? it has been in the shop for two weeks... dealer shop at which I bought it and I am very frustrated.

Car began running hot while on interstate and immediately slowed to 40mph in 70mph zone. Barely made it off interstate without being hit. After waiting for over an hour and filling with water I was able to make it home before it ran hot again. Codes P1299 and P0303 are showing. When I called Ford I was told they have had to fix hundreds of cars with the same problem which is internal coolant loss, overheating, and misfire of cylinder #3. this costs thousands of dollars I was told. I just fixed a faulty purge solenoid and can't afford to pay thousands more on things Ford should have recalled!

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle started overheating with the high-temperature warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure and informed the contact that the cylinder head was cracked. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a second independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA. No further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.

I purchased this in good condition from independent dealer. Less than a year later, engine light came on and it was attributed to evap canister. Got that replaced, engine light stayed off for 4 months. Light returned and mechanic assessed fluid leak into cylinders 2 and 3, replaced spark plugs. Light was off for a day, returned while driving and now we are faced with replacing the engine. Less than 100K on the engine, this is theft.

Getting a check engine light - the reading is misfire on cylinder 1. after our mechanic has tried over and over to find where the leak is coming from. He spoke to a mechanic that works for Ford. He was told that it is a known fault in that engine that the coolant leaks into the engine and will eventually cause the engine to lock up - crack the block. Ford has not done a recall for this item even though I am able to find numerorus complaints of the same problem. My car is not under warranty and I owe too much to just trade the car in to become someone else's problem. So know I have our mechanic looking for an engine and have to just hope and pray that this engine that we find doesn't have the same issue. Wish I could understand why there has not been a recall for this issue if it is a known problem.

Car is losing coolant. I see there have been other Ford have been recalled for a coolant leak / poor circulation but my car is not on that list. We can't figure out where it is losing coolant or why it keeps showing it is overheating. In idle is shows it is overheating when you are start moving the temp goes down. Checked coolant and it was low. Added coolant then there was white smoke coming from the engine. Smoke stopped but the next day it showed it was overheating again when in idle state. Took back to the mechanic. They can't find where it is losing coolant but shows it is losing coolant. I see there have been other recalls for this on the same model as mine and other Ford models as well. My VIN doesn't show it is recalled for this item. Want to get fixed before I have to buy a new engine due to head gasket issue for a car I have only owned for a year and half.

I was driving and have yet to hear back from someone. It is very dangerous to drive my vehicle. After reading others concerns this happens to Fusion a lot more than usual. I was driving and sometimes would smoke while jolting forward. This is very concerning because I drive with kids in the car and this is unacceptable that this keeps reoccurring. It reads a misfire but I have replaced the coil twice and the spark plugs twice. That is not the case the coolant goes into the engine causing the problems and is very dangerous for the kids and myself.

Coolant is entering cylinders - known issue in the 1.5 ecoboost motors as there are recalls in the 2017 and 2018 vehicles. Ford will not rebuild motor must be replaced at a cost of $5K. Vehicle is 4 years old and just ver 100K miles. No excuse for needing a motor and also Ford is doing nothing to help the customer. Safety issue is mine lost power going up a hill and stopped me in the middle of the road, then appeared fine once restarted. Now misses and does not run hardly at all.

The car reads as a 4th cylinder misfire but it's not. The coil has been replaced twice and the spark plugs have been replaced twice also. Went back to Ford after spending all this money to tell me there is a leak going into my engine form my coolant. Now I have to get a new whole engine and I only have the car for about 3-4 years. This is about a $5,000-$6,000 fix. After researching, this should be a recall due to the amount of similar cases there has been. When driving, the light would come on and off when it wants and it sometimes would bolt forward this is due to the leak to the engine. I've had to had it towed once because it was starting to give up. This is when I took it to Ford to misdiagnose me that it was the spark plugs when it was not. This is unsafe to drive and an outrageous price to pay.

Car has 60K miles. Losing coolant no leak. Didn't start one day. Firestone couldn't find the problem. Had my car towed to baytown Ford. After a week and a $800 authorization to open the engine only. Next day I was told I need a new engine. $6K. My question was what caused the engine failure, and how can I be sure the new engine wont have the same problem. My oil changes are regular. Mobil 1 oil and filter. I was told the sludge in my engine was because I had a aftermarket oil filter not a motorcraft filter. Not in writing. I knew better and after some research I found a plethora if other owners has had the exact same problem. My car is my key to providing for my family and I dont have $6K for a manufacturer defect. Car has also cut off while my wife was driving but cranked immediately.
