When reentering the car after a grocery shopping trip, the rear passenger door would close but not latch. The catch for the latch moves freely but several attempts to secure the door failed. My husband tried several times to secure the door so we could leave the parking lot and drive home. Ultimately, because it is a hot, Sunday afternoon, he opted to sit in the rear passenger seat and moved our teen daughter to the front seat so he could hold the door closed on our drive home. We made it home without incident and he tried several more times once the car was parked to secure the door properly without success.

Driving on the highway at least at 65 mph, the car in front of me hit his brakes and went in to a complete stop. I did not have time to stop, I hit the car, none of the air bags deployed. The driver side door could not open because the frame of the car shifted. Right after impact a gush of liquid started pouring out. It was taken to the shop to get fixed but after a couple of days the car was deemed a total loss.
