My 2017 Ford Fusion suddenly has a brake fluid leak and all fluids have been previously checked on a routine basis. My brakes suddenly wouldn-??t work while driving and trying to come to a stop and I had to pull on my emergency brake and then put in park as it will not stop completely while sitting at a red light or intersection. I have read the multiple complaints that have been reported with this problem and I am also reporting this issue with my 2017 Ford Fusion as well!

Over the past 6-8 months, I have replaced the front passenger brake line two times and the front driver side brake line once. If needed, I have receipts showing I have purchased brake fluid and new brake lines on three separate occasions in recent months. I have pictures of the most recent brake line failure. On all three occasions the brake lines have split/burst, I-??ve had no warning the brakes are failing or losing fluid or pressure. The low brake fluid light does not come on till minutes after the brakes fail. don-??t know there-??s a problem till I try to stop and the pedal goes straight to the floor. Right before the brake pedal hits the floor, there-??s minimal braking power and you can gradually slow down. The last time this happened I was on the PA turnpike outside of Pittsburgh traveling 70mph. This was extremely unsafe, I thought for sure I was going to cause a major accident as I could not the stop the car in rush hour traffic.

Front passenger brake line burst summer of 2021 and front driver brake line has burst as of October 2022, vehicle available for inspection and confirmed issues by Firestone. When the 2nd brake line burst, driver was on the highway traveling across country, causing a high risk situation. Firestone has confirmed the brake lines have burst. Vehicle has only been inspected by Firestone for this issue. No warning prior to the burst, brake fluid light triggered when pressure lost on brakes. Passenger front first occurred summer 2021 and front driver October 2022. Again, no warning signs prior to the burst of the brake lines.

Coming down a hill and the brake pedal felt a little different. Thought they might have gotten hot. Next day out to the store and pulling left onto a main street 6 lanes wide heard a pop and the brake pedal fell was gone. Front left brake hose popped. Got it home had to change it out at night. Not but three weeks later pulling into the garage I almost ran into the wall. After the pedal went to the floor again. This time it was the front right hose.

The driver side front brake line failed with no warning. The brake pedal went to the floor, and it took several more braking attempts before the fluid warning light illuminated. Immediately called the dealer when I arrived home and noticed brake fluid all over the inside wheel well. The dealer took it the next day and confirmed the failure and replaced the brake line. The dealer inspected the passenger side brake line, and stated that it was fine.

Brakes failed due to loss of brake fluid. Luckily I found a puddle under the car and was not driving at the time. This is identical to what is listed for similar Ford Edge & MKX vehicles under recall 20s42. Independent goodyear repair shop fixed today for over $400 in repairs.

Both driver & passenger break line hoses have had to be replaced at only 56k miles. There was no corrosion on the hose, nor any wear & tear. There was a lengthwise split in the rubber exterior of the hose and breakdown of the interior braided hose which lead to break fluid leaks. Occurred on both driver & passenger front hoses.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. While depressing the brake pedal and driving up a hill, the pedal depressed to the floorboard and the vehicle failed to operate without warning.
