Fusion Titanium 2.1L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 163,000 miles

The car kept saying overheating and had to keep adding antifreeze and so far it's OK but don't have the money to fix it if it happens again and if the Ford dealers knew about it they should have done a recall instead of letting it go thank you Phyllis Thomas

Fusion SE 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 158,700 miles

I recently had to have the engine replaced on my 2017 Ford Fusion 2.0 Ecoboost. After getting a check engine light and noticing I had no heat due to low coolant, I had the codes ran and had cylinder 3 misfire detected at startup. I took my car to the stealership where they confirmed the code and advised me of a TSB (technical service bulletin) where there is a known issue that due to a defect in the cylinder head, coolant can collect and degrade the head gasket causing coolant to leak into the engine block causing misfires, corrosion, and eventually engine failure.

When my car was written up, the service writer documented the mileage as 15,877 miles. But my car has 158,770 miles on it. So they told me it would be covered under the power train warranty. I gave them the ok to do the work under the warranty coverage. When the work was completed, they called me and said it was done but there was an issue with the mileage document. After negotiating with the manager, I ended up paying half of the total cost due to their error in mileage documentation. So I paid 2694.96 instead of the full cost of 5389.92. After doing a little research, I found there is a class action lawsuit against Ford for this issue.
