Very load screeching and whining sound while driving.

The car was in the garage for 2 days. Then, overnight, it was parked on an incline with the emergency brake on. When I drove off, it started whining, which sounded like a belt squealing. About 1/2 mile up the road, a scrubbing-screeching sound started, and I pulled into a gas station. Everyone was looking because the sound was so loud, and seemed as if I was dragging something. The sound is coming from the front driver's side.
