I was notified in July of 2023 of a recall on the battery energy recall module for this vehicle. I purchased this vehicle to charge and have a gas backup. As a result of reading reports of the potential fire due to charging the vehicle and the notice to not charge the vehicle for safety reasons, I have not been able to use the battery and fuel efficiency part of this vehicle. Again, this is the reason for purchasing the vehicle and paying more for the car. I have contacted Ford and there is no fix in the near future. I am only told to continue to use the vehicle in gas mode. This is not an acceptable response and remedy for their issue. The vehicle value has now drastically reduced as no one wants to purchase a hybrid they cannot charge.

Was driving car to dealership for check signal that was appearing on my dashboard when suddenly the car stopped in the middle of the road with a knocking sound from the back and smoke filled the car and the trunk. At that point I exited the car in fear of getting caught in fire or getting struck by another vehicle. Had the car towed to a Ford dealership in Watsonville California.

My 2019 Ford fusion while driving, the trunk opens by itself. It blocks the rear view of the vehicle. I had to pull over and close it several times while driving for this. I had to put a bungee cord around the trunk to keep it from opening. The trunk opening by itself is a safety hazard and the contents of what is in the trunk it exposed. I already spent over $210 in repairs with the dealer estimating the cost would be over $1100 including the wire harness from the body control module and including the body control module if the harness does not fix this.

remedy not yet available ON YOUR VEHICLE, THE BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE BECM MAY BECOME DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF EXCESS VOLTAGE AND CURRENT FLOW. My fusion wont start and i have to let it sit for hours before it will start. I thought it was battery but had that replaced and had whole car checked and the firestone could find no reason why it wasnt starting. The engine light and battery showed up when it doesnt start but sends no error codes. Today i had to tow my car because me and my family pulled over to eat and got back in the car and it didnt start. This is the first time but what made it worse was having my kids in the car stuck in a part of town. I have exhausted every resource to try to figure out this problem but there is nothing. I think the cars ecu is faulty or something because it wont start again but if i wait for hours it will maybe start back up but thats not for sure. Im afraid to take this car on the highway because i think it may die while me and my family are in it and that is a big concern of safety. My car was bought brand new and under 60000 miles. There is no reason this car should be having these kind of problems. This puts alot of strain on my family and military career not saying im more important then anyone else just saying no one should have ot go through this.Yes vehicle is available for inspection if it starts

This has happened multiple times now. Always happens at high speeds (greater than 45 mph). I will be driving on a highway when I unexpectedly lose the ability to accelerate. First noticed in correlation with the collision detection feature showing on the display as NOT FUNCTIONING. That does not happen anymore, but I still lose the ability to accelerate periodically. Once I can safely remove myself from the flow of traffic and stop/restart my car the issue is resolved. Makes me believe this is electrical/computer origin. The vehicle was taken to the dealership twice where they claim -??cannot duplicate-?? but are willing to replace any item that I will pay for out of pocket. The dealership does not want to honor my extended warranty. The vehicle was purchased new in 2019. Within one year they had to replace half my engine (which they decided to do without warning when I dropped off for an oil change). The vehicle was stolen in 2023 (recovered by me in under 24 hours). Multiple cosmetic issues were repaired by a Ford authorized service team. This issue presented about 1.5 months ago 4+ months after the vehicle was repaired.

Manufacturer Recall Number 23S33 NHTSA Recall Number 23V-440 Ford denied my buyback claim due to the vehicle being pre-owned, but with the open recall, I believe this vehicle to be a significant safety risk. My vehicle has limited functionality and reduced fuel economy in a model for which I specifically paid extra money. There is no fix in sight until the end of 2024 at the earliest, and there are other accounts of people's vehicles leaving them stranded or catching on fire! Ford does not have a fix for this vehicle, and a fix will not be available within a reasonable timeframe.

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious matter regarding the delayed resolution of a safety recall for my plug-in hybrid vehicle, a 2019 Ford Fusion Energi, with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) [XXX]. The recall in question was issued by Ford Motor Company in June 2023. As a responsible vehicle owner, I promptly responded to the recall notice and attempted to address the safety concern with my vehicle. Unfortunately, Ford has been unable to remedy the issue in a timely manner, and this situation is causing considerable inconvenience, financial losses, and most importantly, concerns about my safety and the safety of others on the road. My plug-in hybrid vehicle, which typically boasts an electric-only range of 26 miles when fully charged, has been rendered unable to charge due to the safety recall. Given that I charge my vehicle daily, this has resulted in 154 days, or 4,004 miles, of forced reliance on the gasoline engine. This not only contradicts the purpose and efficiency of a plug-in hybrid but has also led to approximately $300 worth of wasted gasoline, calculated using the IRS mileage reimbursement rate. Furthermore, the anxiety and stress associated with driving a vehicle under recall are substantial. I am worried each time I get into my car that it may catch fire or suddenly stall while I am on the road. This not only impacts my daily life but also compromises the safety of myself, passengers, and fellow motorists. I kindly request the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's intervention to ensure a swift and effective resolution to this matter. The delay in remedying the safety recall not only undermines the purpose of owning a plug-in hybrid but also places the safety of consumers at risk. I trust that the NHTSA will investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary steps to ensure a timely and satisfactory resolution. The current unresolved recall has impacted me numbered 23S33. This issue has impacted me since June 16 2023 and I have received minimal compensation. Due to rising gas prices in California, my inability to charge my car for my typical usage which was covered by the battery, and the higher purchase price I paid for this car, this recall has significantly impacted me.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that her daughter was driving at 45 mph, the vehicle began to pull to the left as an abnormal noise began emitting from the vehicle. The vehicle then independently turned to left and hit the barrier wall on a bridge without warning. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. Her daughter sustained no major injuries, only minor soreness. A police report was filed at the scene. The vehicle was towed twice to two different independent mechanics. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The contact spoke with a dealer (jenkins & wynne Ford, Honda, & Lincoln 2655 trenton rd, clarksville, tn 37040) who informed her that there were no active recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and was referred to NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was 20,000. The VIN was not available.

Prior to recall notice; on 12-20-19 husband noticed coolant L level down at approximately 7,000 miles. Went to local Ford dealer to purchase coolant. While there dealer asked several questions concerning specifics; like, is coolant leaking from your engine and is it visible on the ground; husband said no. Retuned home with coolant and filled the reservoir. January 18th, 2020, receive recall notice from Ford advising coolant may be intruding into the cylinders; advising to contact local dealer for service. January 21st, car into service to reprogram power train /cleared all codes. January 22st, 2020 took an 81 mile trip to lake and back; hours later checked the coolant and it was down again 5/8 's inch from max. January 23rd called the scheduled another appt for January 29th. January 29th 2020, mcspadden Ford had vehicle for 4.5 hours to continue investigation into excessive coolant use. Upon pick up of vehicle, service manager advised they put car up on lift to look for leaks, negative. Hooked up computer and ran car for 20 minutes looking for anything unusual, no problems found. Remove valve covers, inspected block, pistons & cylinders. In process boke a spark plug that was replaced at no charge. Service manager advised they did not find anything to fix; we should just drive it like normal. Driving home at 1.3 miles (4 min) car sputters. Another.3 miles (1 min) car sputters, bucks, steering vibrates, car shakes. Another.6 miles (1 min), car sputters & bucks, steering vibrates, care shakes, RPM gauge bouncing, check engine lite comes on. Another.5 miles (1 min) I pull off the highway into residential neighborhood and call mcspadden service who advise to immediately return the car to them if I am able. Car left again at the shop at 1-29-2020 5:45.

3 weeks after I leased the vehicle new, the windshield shattered without anything hitting it. It is now 3 months later and I above 7500 miles on the car and while sitting in stopped traffic the back glass exploded on its own. Ford corporate only accepted photos taken and submitted by the dealership to review the claim after telling me a 'technician will determine' what happened. Ford said glass is not covered under warranty. I explained to them that I understand but I am mode concerned of the overall safety of the car after this happened. 2 phone reps and their supervisor repeatedly said there is nothing they can do, told me it is normal wear and tear, and there is no other phone number or department I can contact to further pursue this issue.
