This problem is ongoing along with the doors not locking by the use of the sensors. I have been to the dealer 4 times but because the problem is intermittent, they have not yet been able to get it to repeat during the hours that they have it in the shop so they send me home with my car.
I stopped being so diligent about logging the problem for a couple of months because I sort of gave up, but then I started again. I have noted the problem 28 times over a period of 7 months. I have only put 6760 miles on my car. This problem happens approx. every 5-7 days either the locking or unlocking failure.
My latest trip to the dealer, they said that the car is showing U codes within "the system" that also controls those door locks, but because there are so many things within that system, they have no way to track that specific code back to the door locks and witness the problem.
Along with the failure that I am also having with the collision avoidance sensor on the front of the car, the back up sensors on the rear of the car and the fact that Ford just adjusted the MPG figures on the car from 47 down to 38, I am quickly turning against Ford Motor Company from my previous 17 year run as a Ford lover.
