Several times now. While driving the car (ac normally on), we will get to a full stop from driving (over ~40 min trips)... whether in traffic on a freeway or stop sign... the cars check brake system light will flash & beep, and the car will not accelerate. Neither the electric motor nor the gas/hybrid engine will engage and drive. Turning off and on the car does not reset it... it takes repeat effort and several minutes (once over 10 minutes) to be able to start up. Can't imagine if it were to happen on a freeway again with a child or my other half in the car! scary! took it to the dealership several times without any luck diagnosing or fixing the issue... we need a reliable vehicle this is insane. Now the car is out of warranty and doing it again. Ford nor any dealer shop can help fix this. They can't reproduce it, the issue is sporadic which makes it worse & more terrifying to experience. So far 4 occurrences within the last 4 months. About 10 + over the 3 years since we purchased the car new. The lights always reset by the time we make it to a dealer lot. Their systems cannot trouble shoot anything at that point! it happened again recently when parked for over an hour, after a 80 mile drive. When we went to drive home, it would not drive/accelerate. Same brake system light issue was popping up again. Almost had to get a tow, then all of a sudden it started back up again as the driver got to us.
