Paint bubbling along edge of hood on passenger side. Contacted Ford directly who basically told me to contact dealer. Dealer said nothing can be done - even if extended warranty still in place. "Solution" is to repaint. When I noted it was a Ford problem with poor prep (contamination; aluminum hood), he agreed and said new paint job would do prep properly. When asked Ford and dealer directly if Ford is doing anything to remediate a problem caused by their poor workmanship they said no.

Will definitely never buy a Ford product again. Have complained to Ford Canada and they have offered to cover half the cost of the the repair, as I was able to prove that this wasn't from an outside source. But knowing that this is a known problem they should cover the entire cost in my opinion.

Had the car since new.
Take VERY good care of it, keep it covered, wash and wax it regularly.
Suddenly, I notice a small patch of bubbling paint on the hood at the side edge, passenger side. Ford said it's not their problem. It's gotten larger over the last 3 months, it's like a cancer just under the paint surface. There are no scratches or dents in this area. It's in an area that has a couple layers of folded sheet metal as a part of the design of the car, so the cure won't be any easy or inexpensive fix.

It is well documented that many Ford vehicles have corrosion issues on the aluminum hoods. My Fusion hood started with paint bubbling/flaking at around 40K miles, after the warranty expired. My car has always been garaged and is not exposed to snow/salt.
This problem affects most of these cars and Ford should fix the problem when it occurs, which many times is outside of warranty period.
