Fusion Hybrid Titanium

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,164 miles

I noticed some bubbling paint on the hood of my Ford Fusion Hybrid a few weeks ago and now the paint has cracked and is starting to peel. I haven't contacted the dealer yet to see if it's covered, but, with all the miles I drive, I doubt it's covered under any warranty.

Fusion Hybrid Titanium

  • CVT transmission
  • 46,700 miles

This is a known problem with aluminum Ford hoods dating back to mid 2000s Mustang. I purchased this car 2 years ago. I have ALWAYS bought foreign cars because of issues with American made cars. I really liked this Fusion and I wanted a hybrid. I have had 2 estimates to fix this, $1350 and $750. After a lot of research, $1350 is a better estimate as the estimator said the whole hood needs to be replaced with a new one and a better paint job. Then blend in the sides panels. I have always been a good customer to Ford. I brought this car in for all its "mileage" services. When I brought this problem up to the manager, while he admitted it was a problem with the car and was a manufacture problem, he basically said there is nothing he can do. The bumper to bumper warranty stopped when I went over 36,000 miles. Totally ridiculous. If Ford doesn't fix this, I will NEVER buy a Ford again. Completely ridiculous to have paint issues 2 years into owning my car brand new.
