The system brake fault light came on, the brake pedal hit the floor and there was a grinding noise from the left front of the car. In addition to the system brake fault, the parking brake lamp would not extinguish. As soon as the car was on the tow truck the fault lights cleared. The dealer could not identify the problem, but based on codes found in the computer they recommended replacement of the brake booster. "Replace the brake booster. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-07" with a part estimate of $468 plus 2.7 hours of labor (~$197/hou4) for a total of ~$1,000 despite the fact that the dealer could not reproduce the problem but only saw it in the codes.
They also recommended (solely because the parking brake light would not extinguish) that I replace the parking brake motor (~$170 parts + $230 labor - 1.15 hours of labor at the above rate).
The dealer ran up over 75 miles on my vehicle while reading out the codes and charged me $185 for the code read and visual inspection (same inspection offered for free at BrakeMasters)
Still trying to decide if I need to spend $1,500 on repairs. due to a recommendation on TSB 15-0065 when C1021-22 appears in the ABS module.
