Usual mechanic was unable to complete a tune up due to spark plug stuck in coil, so he referred car to Ford dealership. Car driven to dealership, and the receipt indicates the mechanic broke spark plug head, unable to repair. I was informed a new engine was needed which cost $6,000.00.

There are numerous complaints of coolant intermix in fusions causing major costly repairs. Coolant intemix concerns on fusions with the 1.5l engines, fusions prior to 2015, and later years.

Update from Jul 22, 2021: Car has been in driveway since October 2020. Attorney contacted Ford Motor Company. Documentation from dealer states mechanic broke attempted to remove spark plug stuck in coil. Spark plug partially broke off in the head. According to invoice the plug was seized due to coolant intrusion in cylinder. Documentation from service director of Ford Dealership also indicated in email that spark plug is seized into the cylinder head, due to an internal coolant intermix in a 1.5L engine. Ford requested all service records on car, which they received. As of July 2021, no contact with my attorney or myself. Being 72, multiple cancer surgeries and heart surgery, I am unable to afford a new engine for this car. Dealership quoted a $6,000 price for a new engine.. Well aware of numerous complaints of problems with 1.5L engines in Ford Fusions and other Ford cars.
