Fusion Hybrid V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 106,000 miles

I had my transmission replaced under a TSB at 75,000, I was getting grinding sounds. I'm unsure if it is related, but at 100,000 I'm driving on the freeway accelerating going about 65 and get a message on the dash that said "transmission not in park". The dash went black, car dropped to 35 MPH or so, radio powered off, and I had to chug a mile to get off to the side of the road. I turned the car off, back on, and it was fine. Dealership had no idea and suggested the regular battery be swapped out. I did that, but two months later I was driving on a regular side street and the same thing occurred. Because the freeway i drive on has construction going on for years, and no area to pull over, I traded the car in at 108,000.

Fusion Hybrid SE

  • CVT transmission
  • 110,000 miles

I have maintained this car meticulously. Every maintenance was done on time or before. It started making a whining noise and brought it in for evaluation. The result is that the ECVT in the transmission has gone. The repair cost for this is $9,000.00. This is not an exaggerated price. I am devastated and can not afford the fix. BEWARE of this issue with the Hybrid. You will be stuck without a vehicle that you can not sell or trade in as now it has absolutely no value.
