Fusion Hybrid

The contact-??s son owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while decelerating and coming to a stop, the vehicle lost motive power and shut off. The contact stated that after approximately 5 - 10 minutes the vehicle would independently restart with the A/C unit on high. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer confirmed that the failure related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V440000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.
