corrosion on the lip of the hood outer and under
Approximately 6 months ago I noticed paint chipped on the tip of the hood of my car in a few places. As I looked closer it looked like someone poured acid due to the bubbling effect. I thought it was odd. I ignored it for a few months and finally looked on Google for similar issues with Ford Mustangs and saw many other complaints of this bubbling paint/corrosion. First I went to a body shop. They said it was galvanic corrosion having to do with metal against aluminum. They gave me a quote of 600 dollars to fix but could not guarantee it would not come back. They said I should go to the dealership since they might fix it for free since it was an issue with Ford. Then I went to the Ford dealership. The manager of the body shop department said there have been lots of complaints but Ford was only going to honor those within a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty. I asked him what was the cause. He said it is just rust. I was very disappointed with all the complaints from customers. I only have 63K miles on my car now. Seems like Ford should be taking better care of their customers and issue a recall.

Paint is bubbling on my 2006 Ford Mustang GT on the hood. This appears to be the same problem others have with the paint issue.
