Ford KA is like a bad relationship! I bought it with all the wrong reasons, economical and to park in small places. That car has cost me a fortune, I could of bought several Ford KA's for the amount of money I have spent on it.
I have replaced the engine 7 times, blown head gaskets, replaced radiators and oh the water tank goes every year, on the day. It overheats, it cannot even do a slight uphill, being a small 1.4, it is pathetic. I had to get a temperature gauge custom made so that I could keep tabs on when it overheated.
I am not your average female driver, I check oil and water ONCE a week. yes once a week and guess what, it still overheated. It did small little trips to work and back which is 6 kms per day, so it barely made it. Ford KA has the most annoying wheel storage spare which is under the back of the car, you need a midget to get in there to take out the wheel when you have a puncture. Heaven help you if you replace tyres, continental 3, which cost me a fortune R1400.00 per tyre, more expensive that the Toyota tazz, which is totally different car.
It is the most annoying car, it might have aircon but you can never use it, in this African Summer heat, cause the car overheats. Yep, it has airbags, but you so busy driving at 80 km's an hour, you will never need to use them, cause most of the time the car is in the garage. I was servicing the car every 5000 kim;s, yep, for a female, aren't you impressed! Never ever, buy a FORD KA as it is a FORD KAK and that is a slang work for animal dump! It is probably the worst car ever made by Ford, hence the work KA, incomplete. They really used midgets or dwarves to make the engine, cause very mechanic I have ever known has complained about getting something done, as he has to take the whole tiny walking ring apart.
What a waste and the worst sales service ever from FORD dealerships here in SA. Well lets say the only good think was to park it, as it takes up half the car parking bay, but other than that it is in the garage for most of the year, as they have to skeem the head and sort out the engine and and and.....a very expensive car it is, in the long run, I have spent over R300 000.00 on this car and bought it back then for R120 000.00 . So go figure.......FORD sucks and there is a lovely work for it : Found on Rubbish dump!
