speaker distortion speaker distortion

I put door speakers in my 1987 Ford Laser, they were almost new, but the were distorting, no matter the settings on the radio, till i see that the magnet is pushing right against the window slider, as shown in the picture, i told my friend about it, he said i must take a bicycle tube and wind it against the magnet, so off i went to my local bicycle shop and ask for a scrap tube, which they didnt charge me anything for, thanx guys, i cut the tube in half and wind it around the magnet and keep it in place with a cable tie, as shown in the picture, i first test it by putting a key next to the magnet, the more you wind the tube around the magnet, the stronger it resist the magnetic power, i put back the speakers, distortion solved, you do get speakers that is about 7mm thinner in height, so that the magnet does not push against the window slider, but then you still need to wind tube around the magnet, because the magnet still pick up the steel of the window slider which will cause a distortion, which i did at the end, only thing, now my window opens about 95% and not 100% but that 5% is worth instead of listening to distorted music.
