The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated upon opening the front driver's side door, the door made an abnormal cracking and popping sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the door hinge or the entire door might need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
