The rear brakes and rotors have prematurely worn out at only 28k miles, while the front brakes are like new. There is no way for me or any local repair shop to put it into brake service mode. The official Ford procedure does not work. NHTSA issued SSM 51217 acknowledging the issue, but the only solution is only to take it to a Ford dealer to do a simple procedure such as changing rear brake pads. This solution is unacceptable and causes an undue burden upon the customer in time and money for a known manufacturing defect. My closest dealer is 1 hour away. It can not pass my state safety inspection without this being done. Ford should be issuing a recall to address this defect, not simply driving people to the dealer network for basic safety maintenance.

Check engine light Power train light (wrench)/reduced power Brake light pre-collision light/pre-collision unavailable Hill assist message The above warning lights appeared out of no wear when pulling up to a stop light.. The parking break was automatically engaged and the above warning lights appeared. When I tried to accelerate to make a turn, the truck would not accelerate with me using the accelerator, but it started accelerating on its own. I had to keep riding the brake because it keep accelerating on its own until I was able to get it to a parking lot.

I had just filled up my truck with gas and started driving to work today and the truck went into limp mode. It flashed a low gear warning, then started to slowly stop, all of the system alarms went off, including the check engine light. There were so many pop-up's I can't recall them all. I was able to pull over and start slowing down before it engaged the emergency brake and I experienced a hard stop. I turned the truck off and back on with no help. I turned the truck off again and opened the door, then shut the door and turned the truck back on and the brake was then turned off but check engine light still on. When I put the truck in drive it would start to accelerate without me pressing the gas. I pulled over again and turned the truck off again and back on. This time the truck behaved more normally but the check engine light is still on. Not sure if this is related to last recall service I recieved.

The brakes are grabby during low speed driving (5mph). It occurs during slow turns, pulling into parking spaces, going through a restaurant drive-thru, etc. In this situation, you typically keep your foot on the brake pedal and slowly let off to move forward and then equally apply the brakes to stop. When this problem occurs, when you are trying to apply the brakes the normal amount of pressure isn't enough, so you press harder and harder until the vehicle stops in a lurch, many times accompanied by a loud "thunk" in the front end.

My 2022 Ford Hybrid Maverick Truck has been experiencing what is referred to as Grabby Brakes by the Maverick Truck Club (MTC) Maverick owners. At low speeds, 2-5 MPH, the brakes suddenly activate and slams the truck to a stop and passengers are thrown forward. There was and article from [XXX] that reported that there is a Technical Service Bulletin [XXXX] from Ford Motor Company that addresses the issue. I cannot validate this information. I did take the truck (2 times) down to the local dealership and was met with anything other than my concern. After mentioning the TSB [XXX] I was told that the TSB was no longer valid and the short answer was there was nothing currently on the issue and was not looking into it citing, "there was nothing from Ford". There are no indications that the vehicle is about to slam the brakes on. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving at 6 MPH, the brakes were grabbing. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V380000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure related to the recall. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was approximately 9,805.

Drivers side front brake makes grinding noise, Ford dealer mechanic states I do not drive it enough. The brake noise is most apparent at low speed. Second problem. Using remote entry at night does not turn on interior lights, nor opening the door. But after using the truck and turning off the ignition the interior light is on.

Grabby brakes a slow speeds, poses a safety problem that Ford seems to ignore. I believe that Ford is not being proactive in finding a solution for this problem. Unfortunately it seems like someone can become injured due to this problem. The problem has been ongoing since I received the vehicle in 2022.

"GRABBY" BRAKES. At low speeds, approximately 5-10mph, when I gently apply the brakes, the brakes suddenly and without warning catch or "lock up" as if slamming on the brakes. It's a jolting experience and can be dangerous if another vehicle is following close behind and my brakes lock up for no apparent reason. There are no warning lamps or messages. This braking malfunction began the first day I took delivery.

I have a 2022 Ford Maverick, 2.0 ecoboost engine, awd. I have been having brake problems since the beginning. The problem is the front brakes do not back out enough to leave a proper air gap between the brake pad and rotor when deactivating the service mode. Therefore the pads keep riding on the rotors causing glazing and grabby brakes when coming to a stop behind a vehicle. Turning off the active breaking?did help with the grabby brakes when stopping behind a vehicle, but did not resolve the glazing issue. I took the truck into two dealerships and the techs. could not find a solution. the front calipers, front brake hoses and the brake master cylinder have been replaced with no success. Maybe the solution is to adjust the air gap settings somewhere in the software.

* Grabby brakes at low speed and light braking. * it makes slow speed braking unpredictable. You push on the brakes and get very little braking, add more brakes and still very little braking, add more pressure and then suddenly you get extreme braking like slamming on the brakes. Brakes are not progressive at low speed. * Yes I've taken it to the ford dealer (Team Ford Lincoln in Las Vegas) at least 3 times for unrelated issues and every time I complain about the unpredictable braking and every time they claim they can't reproduce the issue. The Last time I even email them the ford service bulletin 22-2493 which talks about the Exhaust Gas Recirculation sensor and they say this sensor can contribute to brake grab. But even after they replaced the EGR sensor I still have gotten low speed brake grab. * I have over 30,000 miles on the truck now and the low speed brake grab has remained exactly the same since I bought it new. It happens probably once a week. Some additional info. Video about the issue. https://youtu.be/Fy7DRygWvG0 Forum post talking about the issue. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/tsb-22-2493-issued-for-2-5l-hybrid-maverick-grabby-brakes-at-or-below-6-2-mph.24977/ Ford need to address this issue because the inconsistent brakes in parking lot speeds is a serious problem that needs to be acknowledged and fixed.

Going at low speeds the brakes will lock up instantly. It happens completely randomly and can-??t be predicted. I have cars beeping constantly in traffic when the car slams to a stop instantly. Also difficult to park or pull out safely after braking if they don-??t unlock vehicle crawls out into traffic.

The brakes become stiff at low speeds especially when used frequently like stop or go traffic. The brakes will become stiff then unresponsive followed by a jolting grab by the breaks. There have been a few close calls parking and rolling to a stop and having the breaks being unresponsive. the problem is recurring and intermittent.

Vehicle seems to have a problem with the brakes engaging when trying to stop. Will have it inspected soon to see why. But has gotten me close to hitting other cars at times because when trying to ease into a stop or simply move up in line brake won't engage for a bit then all the sudden engage and will jerk the vehicle from the sudden stop. And happens frequently
