Front CV axles. Front end shakes really bad at 30-50 mph. Dealer changed front passenger side CV axle but it still shakes really bad. I'll be bringing it back to the dealership, but warranty expires soon they need to have a recall and a better replacement part for this fix. I am not the only one with this problem.

After performing a panic stop where the Pre-Collision activation message and chime activated, nothing happened until a few miles down the road. At that time, The "Service AdvanceTrac, " "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" and "Hill Start Assist" warning messages scrolled on the cluster with a chime to go with them. Additionally, the amber tell tale warning lights for the ABS system, electric park brake system, stability control system and pre-collision assist were illuminated. The lights turned themselves off one by one approximately five 5-6 miles after that, then all came back on with the same three warning messages about 2-3 miles after they had gone off. All remained illuminated even at the start of the next key cycle but promptly went away before leaving the parking lot. It should be noted that while the warning lights were on, the vehicle did not have electronic power steering assist though no warnings or lights told of this failure. I could just tell from the increased effort in low speed, parking lot maneuvers.

Vehicle shudders or shakes on acceleration. Seems to only happen during acceleration and doesn't feel like it throws the steering wheel around but more like the front end is just loose or something like a transmission slipping feeling.

CV axles in the 2022 Ford Maverick Fail Prematurely: This is a known and common problem, with no recall, TSB, or additional warranty from Ford. This results in severe shuttering during acceleration, and especially heavy loads (e.g. highway on-ramp). Additionally, the failure wears out other steering components, and potentially tire tread. The premature failure of this part (CV axle) creates additional risk for vehicle occupants, and should be remediated.

At approximately 41k miles driven, and upon accelerating and at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate and shimmy. Some days the shimmy is slight, other days it was severe. Only happens with the gas pedal pressed. Resolves when gas pedal is not engaged. Took to dealer 8.26.2024 and confirmed CV Joint failure. TBD on warranty repair in the next few days. Since it is common knowledge that CV Joints should last 80k-100k miles, this is not acceptable and a danger to passenger, driver, and others on the road. Also, there is marked chatter among Maverick owners via online forums who are also encountering early failure of the CV Joints. Thank you for your prompt investigation into this dangerous situation and important safety matter.

while the car was in neutral tow mode, being towed behind a motorhome, the steering wheels went onto a 'death wobble'. This was after turning left onto an on ramp. Traveling 5mph. Stopped immediately. Started to slowly move forward and it appeared the problem has corrected. Towed fine after that. However, the vehicle has lost power steering. I have noticed from the forums that this has been happening more frequently.

The contact's wife owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving 65-68 MPH, the vehicle decelerated independently to 40 MPH. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond and lost motive power. Additionally, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he used physical strength to steer the vehicle. The contact was able to drive across four lanes and pulled to the side of the roadway. The contact stated that he turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as needed. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 23,364.

I was driving East on Rte 70 near Mt. Airy, MD at approximately 2 am the morning of Sunday, Oc. 11. at approximately 65 mph. In and instant all power to the vehicle went dead. The engine stopped and all electrical components went dead. Most importantly, my lights went out, the power steering was inoperable, and the brakes went out. It was absolutely terrifying. Because of the lack of brakes, I narrowly avoided colliding with an 18-wheeler. I was able to pull the car off the road on the right side and allow the vehicle to drift to a stop (again, no brakes) over the course of 1/4 - 1/2 mile. I called a tow truck. They towed the vehicle to Apple Ford in Columbia, MD. I am told by the Dealer that this most likely an issue with the battery wiring harness, and that Ford is aware of the issue. It's unfathomable to me that Ford would not issue a recall for this extraordinarily dangerous issue. I have contacted Ford directly. They have been nothing short of abusive. Their IVR phone system seems intentionally designed to confuse and frustrate callers. I have attempted to escalate the issue to a supervisor, given the extremely dangerous nature of the issue. The representatives and customer advocates in the Ford Customer Relations depaterment have not been helpful at all.
