Maverick Hybrid Lariat 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Bought this truck new in 2022 and had to pay 6k extra "Covid fee" bringing price to almost 40k This truck drives well, looks nice & has gotten great mileage, BUT The 12v battery goes dead repeatedly! I've taken it to the dealer at least a dozen times, and had about 8 batteries replaced. I called FORD tech support in Dearborn & researched all the possible causes. Ford worked with my local ford dealer to rectify the problem and after 4 years, NO SUCCESS!!! I am done with this POS vehicle & am trading it in tomorrow before I set fire to it, NO MORE FORDS FOR ME EVER AGAIN!!! This vehicle was not ready for market as the R&D was not finished, and I'm another of Ford's victims. Going back to Subaru as their cars are ready for market after years of R&D with known fixes for all the probs.

They put bad batteries in these trucks and would not admit to it. From day 2, it's said it was going into power saver mode any time I turned off the truck. I have not been able to use the Ford app to start lock/unlock my truck. Lights don't turn on when getting in truck. You can check MaverickTruckClub. It's all over the forums. Even worse, they did not ship these trucks with an AGM battery. Absolutely unacceptable that they just sweep this under the rug and pretend it is not their fault. It should have been recalled, because now they ship with better batteries because they KNOW they did wrong.
