I had a '94 Cobra that would shutoff on its own. It shutdown in the middle of the Arizona desert while driving cross country. It cost me $400 to get towed to the dealer in Yuma, AZ. I left it there for 3 months. I then paid $550 to ship the car to Northern, CA. Turns out it was the fuel pump. I bought one at Auto Zone for like $40 or $60 and was going to put it in myself, but the bolts were seized. I think I paid $100 for labor. All in all, it was a $140-$160 problem that cost me $1000. Oh yeah, don't take this problem to the dealer. They will charge you around $500 to fix this, if not more. This happened in '03. I drove the car with no issues until '07 and sold it without any issues in an honest sale.
